Or if when Rioli threw his head back like he'd been shot from a bump to his arm the umpire had given a free against him for staging or after they stuffed up one call of play on not 15 they realised their error or the one where the Hawks defender just threw the ball away......etc

anyway on today's game yes Sainsts got a rough trot in the last quarter no doubt..Even if those decisions didnt happen would of Hawthorn still found a way??im guessing yes but we will never know.
Have a look how many goals haks missed in the last qurter.
I need to watch the first three quarters though and see if the saints got some easy ones themselves

Reality is they are are an experienced side.
Maybe Hawks got a good run today but all these people that say the umpires/AFL help Hawthorn need to quit hanging out the back of their mums and keep focusing their time on the port arthur and 911 conspiracies.

St Kilda are amazing i cant believe how far they have come and they are not far off. i rate Richardson..He is getting the best out of that squad.

As the umpiring panel for all things umpiring, including a high performance coach [excuse me whilst I roll on the floor laughing] I would like to address some of the decisions from today's match. Obviously the better team won and any decision we question can be explained as a correct decision. Sadly the enjoyment from the game was spoiled by what shall we say were blatantly f%45ing **** decisions favouring the home team
All the best for games that you umpire in the future>
P.s. I don't want to see an umpire clearly touching himself after not paying two marks and then giving a free kick for them to goal

The one thing I know about Richo is that we will review this game very closely.

He will give praise as it is deserved, but I doubt (or hope) he drives home the message; not good enough. We had chances to win the game, they scored 4 or so goals from turnovers etc. We were up by 11 points in the last and they came and kicked 3.

As a fan, so proud of the team as a whole. To go down to the Hawks by 3 in Tassie shows how far we have come.

Football is now fun again and I am excited for next week. Carn Saints!

Interesting that you take the criticism of them personally, but probably more the frustration you're venting about your own team.

Yeah this one burns a bit. TBH the Cyril one annoyed me most of all. Just good, hard play and cos he got smashed it was a free.

Still, despite it all Paddy had the chance to kick a hero goal at the end to win it. It's the thought of him and Bruce together in the forward line for the next four years that makes it palatable.

I think it was the hit on geary that knocked him basically out made the rioli one even worse. One was a side bump, the other a hit to the head. Will let you work out which got called high.... plus they let play go on for 30 secs after geary was out.

Yeah I thought the Geary thing was s**t too, can't believe they were contemplating a boundary throw in there.

Also, random moment in the game, but Riewoldt took down a Hawthorn defender (dunno who) in a marking contest and the Hawks player stayed down. Riewoldt immediately shot up his hand and shouted at Hawks support staff (I assume) to attend. I just thought it was a good moment, we have a really positive 'hard but fair' culture going right now.

Mitchells comments at the end really resided with me. He honestly was surprised at how well saints played and felt relieved to get the points.

Reckon Billing's defensive game has gone through the roof since Perse gave him that well deserved rev-up a couple of weeks ago.
He is sticking more tackles and looks to get more contested ball.
Great to watch.

I've said it before and I'll say it again we always seem to cop the worst of the umpiring while the Hawks always seem to cop the best of it.

We were the better team today imo and although we made mistakes so did they and it's fair to say the umpires were the difference.

The positive is that we showed we can more than match the triple premiers, we just have to get better at finishing to take the umpires out of it.

McCartin is another big positive, he's just getting better and better with each game, that pack mark in the last quarter was immense.
