Draper getting criminally underrated on this thread. Only health is holding him back from being a top tier ruckman, who also can be a weapon up forward.
He's decent at both without being great at neither. He's a rich man's Bailey Williams.

Yep, if you don’t want him due to the ? surrounding his Achilles that is fair enough.

But the actual player he is, is getting criminally underrated here. You can win with, and because of, Draper.

Well I don’t mean to brag, but we got all of James Kelly, Matthew Stokes, Ryan Crowley, Sam Grimley, Matt Dea and James Polkinghorne among others in the same offseason 😤

Thats a big injection of talent in one offseason

name another time any club has managed to lure the two highest profile free agents in the same off season.

i'll wait.

'High profile' gee is that what we are calling spud Draper now?

Who are these mysterious high profile players you speak of. I can't recall if I've actually seen the 2 mentioned even on a field this year

People truly cant look at the common sense scenario here

Brisbane add Sam Draper, Brisbane give up nothing - Tick
Brisbane drop Darcy Fort, add Sam Draper into best 22 - Double Tick
Brisbanes premiership chances improve - Triple tick

This is a big win for Brisbane.

I'm not jealous-im stoked you are getting for him. Super happy for you.

Meek has just resigned for 4 years. How do you rate Draper compared to Meek and what do you think Draper deserves?

My guess is Meek is on something like $700k growing to $800k over the 4 years. Possibly its $700k growing to $900k. So its above average but well below the numbers being thrown around for other ruck who are at a similar level or worse.

Drapers actual wage isnt all that relevant. If Brisbane get Draper, get Allen and lose no one then what does it matter who gets paid what? Whats this magical bad scenario Brisbane are in all of a sudden if Draper joins on 750k per year and not 600k per year? What is the negative for Brisbane?

Answer is well no negative at all. They are losing nothing and gaining a best 22 player. They won

Other than all the kids who will be eyeing off $1m contracts and going elsewhere, sure.

The Swans struggled for years with Buddy's contract and he was the best player in the comp. Draper is about the 200th best player in the comp. Allen about the same.

And it isnt $750k. The numbers being spoken of are $1m a year. Which is ****ing nuts.

Thats a problem that doesnt exist. Who do you expect will up and go because Sam Draper got 150k more then he would have got elsewhre?
