The brownlow stands out, i'd still take Mitchell though.

Mitchell has the one extra BnF and I think is more vital to the Hawks than Black was to the Lions. He is one of the most underrated players in the history of the game.

I think that speaks more about how good the Lions' midfield was rather than Mitchell being better than Black.

Both are underrated stars of the competition. I've gone with Black, only just. It could go either way, but I feel Black just has a smidgen more game-winning ability.

Definitely. If you split the poll into Black just, Mitchell just, Mitchell clearly, and Black clearly, most of the votes would be in "Black just".

I don't think i'll vote in this one - too close to call. Mitchell's consistency is unreal - plus he's shown he's willing to be selfless and sacrifice his own game for the team where required. Black was just an awesome midfielder who basically never played a bad game. I just love that both are slow and wouldn't be favourites at any draft camp either.

could,shoulda,woulda .... but just isn't as good as S Black

As it stands the split is 70:30 and I'd bet that at 45% of the 30 were still in primary school when Black was winning browlows and norm smiths etc

Stop trying to make excuses for his failure to win major individual awards. Just accept him for who he is which is a good player who just isn't quite up to the level of S Black
