It was stuff that obviously couldn't be shown by them. I hate Sam anyway. He's a prick.

That's not very nice Suzi.

The joke was in last Wednesday's Herald Sun in Robert Fidegon's (sp?) column in the TV Guide. However, I cannot remember how it finished - sorry. But if you know someone who's got a copy of that paper, you can get it from them, I suppose.

They must have edited the bit where Sam actually said something intelligent. They do that every week on TFS.

Apparently Mol was considerably miffed by what was said by Sam and also that Madeline West skank, they really stuck it to him supposedly.

You'd think they could have come up with something more original than the naff gay jokes.

Obviously they don't know how to do a proper roast, you can take the **** out of someone without being offensive. Anyone seen the American roasts?

Why the **** were people like Sam Newman and Eddie McGuire doing it? A roast should be people he has had intimate friendships for years getting up and saying stuff, why these yobs?

Seems that there were a lot of people who knew him pre 1970's, that refused to take part, he p***ed off a lot of people when he was starting out, on his path to fame.

i thought it was a shocking show. every second bloody person got up there and made fun of him being gay.. i know it's supposed to be a 'roast' but i agree.. give the guy a nice roast.. like trev for example was fantastic...

and i think bert.. although he continue the gay jokes summed it up nicely when he said he was gonna cover a subject that surprising hasn't been brought up at all, all night.. his sexuality

But you've gotta admit that some of the pranks on The Footy Show are great!

1. The time when Crawf put the chilli around the water glass and Sam nearly choked.

2. The time where Sam was getting really stuck into Crawf about playing footy for money, and he turns his back on Shane to talk to the audience (he's wearing the freo guernsey and small- too small shorts) and then Crawf dacks him

3. When Crawf & Richo did the little soap opera play- Richo was f**ing hillarious

4. When Gary Lyon and Crawf are having fun with the names on the West Coast vs Brisbane game
Crawf: I'd like to say hi to Martin Pike's brother, Half
Gary: I'd like to say hi to Jason Gram's sis, Anna
Crawf- I'd like to say hi to Trent Carroll's brother...Christmas
Crawf- I'd like to say hi to Daniel Kerr's bro, Wayne

If not for the Player Panel, I wouldn't watch the footy show.

I hope Molly gets a proper career tribute on a 30th anniversary of Countdown show in a year or so, on ABC of course. I didn't even watch this bloody thing, he deserves better than a tribute from commercial 'celebrities'

A few ****ter jokes have never hurt anyone. I think alot of you are been too precious. Afterall at the end of the day all it really is is a joke. Its not as though they were being nasty/hateful towards ****ters.

This whole thing is roasting thing is a good laugh and is giving some small entertainment to the poms as witnessed from this site http://www.football365.com/Fun_Games/MediaWatch/story_89697.shtml

Roast Of The Day
According to The Age newspaper in Melbourne, Australian TV network Channel Nine have had to apologise for a show intriguingly entitled 'Molly Meldrum: Toasted and Roasted'.

Apparently "some guests were shocked, some left the studio and some made angry interjections". Which is hardly surprising really.

Possibly the oddest thing though is that Molly Meldrum is a man. Which would give the likes of Robbie Fowler a lovely shock.

which is not surprising given the suddenly very popular connotations of the word "roasting", as explained in the Guardian.
according to several newspapers, "roasting" is supposed to suggest the stuffing of a piece of meat. More likely, it seems to me, is that it refers to spit-roasting, with an insertion at either end
