Can't judge a player on one match (especially an Intraclub match) but he was exceptional on Friday night.

Played as a small forward, great footy smarts and skills, nabbed a couple of goals and created plenty of opportunities with his defensive pressure.

Should be a player... hopefully in Brisbane.

hmm...hope he bcomes a star.
hope he loses the passion/retires from brisbane and regains the passion and comes out of retirement at carlton.

There's a little bit of a difference.

Hadley was a Brisbane player, Sheldon Jnr was never a Carlton player.

Furthermore, your supporters continually bring that thread up, it wasn't a Carlton supporter bumping it up. There has been discussion about Hadley by Brisbane supporters since his departure. Can't say the same about Sheldon.
 
Young Sammy decided to go to Brisbane just like young Murphy didn't, fair enough we've accepted that and moved on, it seems however some Lions fans haven't.:rolleyes:

I'm still a little bit dissapointed though that he didn't chose to wait.

I really wouldn't look too hard into it....we rated Anderson higher than Sheldon, end of story.

Do you think that Sam might be feeling a little pissed with himself right now...

If he had waited like we wanted him to, we would be picking him up with 36 and he would be 1 year away from playing with the best player in the league.

I can understand his desire to play at the top level, but... hindsight is a terrible thing really.

I'd think he'd be much more happier up in Brisbane. They have a successfull culture and are on the verge of something special. And oh wait they have the best player in the league J Brown
 
A third round pick for Sheldon was too much too give up in such a strong draft, but taking him later in the draft instead of Anderson could have been a good option.
 
Just a question to those who follow the draft and have seen Sheldon play this year. How would you rate him compared to those in this year's draft and where would you have expected him to go?

If he hadn't nominated last year, would you expect that Carlton would have been willing to give up Pick 48 for him this year?

It may not even have been pick 48, considering the F/S rules have changed from last year.

No longer would it have mattered how much only we rated Sheldon, but also how he was rated in the eyes of the recruiting managers of other clubs.
