From what I've heard about this kid - he'll do everything he can to make it at AFL which I really like. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being our long term CHB

Reserves Wrap - GWS - 17/07/16 (Shane Woewodin’s comments?)

A key-defender only getting better. It was a typical display, he’s only getting stronger. He had the job on Stewart who was eventually moved at half time to back. He did a great job on a really good player for GWS. He took 10 marks, 2 of those contested. He was not beaten in the contest all day. To a lot of marks from opposition and worked hard. He hit the scoreboard too as a defender. Coming back off injury he is only getting better week to week. He loves the contest and again along with Walks and Painey the two key-defenders, he’s doing a great job for us.

The week he was meant to debut and everything. The poor bloody kid.

Terrible blow for Sam. I am sure the club and his family will be around him.

It is a long road back but that long road is also the making of some players. Twelve months from now he will be fit and ready to play...and his chance will come again. He still has a great career ahead of him.

Right now though, you just have to feel for him.

Sam is a great guy. Supreme talent.

I'd back him in to return. Sports science gets better every year, acl's aren't the death sentence they once were.

At worst sam is a great bloke and it's worth having him at the club just for that.
