Not sure how Hinkley gets a guernsey here and likewise not sure about how many years experience he had prior to PAFC (not AFL) but at least he had some coaching experience. My comment on stature and presentation was not about AFL coaching but about how I see Dew's personal qualities. I am being real - and what I will repeat is that I think Dew would be a disaster for AFC. We surely are better than that.
How on earth can you say we are "better than that" when you have no idea about Dew's qualities. Every senior coach at some point was a highly-touted assistant coach. Here is a coach who has learnt from Clarkson, Longmire and Roos... and I reiterate my point - if not Dew, then who? Because it's better him than some of the names thrown around like Ratten and Eade.

they are really dropping shit on Trigg.
sometimes you need the shit to stop dropping on your eyes so you can wipe it away and see the truth. Once it stopped dropping I suspect a few started to see clearly again - and what they saw was not great.

There will be some very nervous Carlton people today.

To those that lambasted me for suggesting the new CEO would have had NO input into the BOARD"S decision to sack Sando...you know who you are, well Fox Sports reporting both Roo and Fagan have come out this morning and stated and gone to great lengths to explain that the CEO had absolutely nothing to do with this decision, none, nada...his total involvement was that he was TOLD of the board's decision. The decision was already made before his appointment!

Fox also reporting as has been mentioned on here the senior players reviews played a big part in the decision, all fine and good but one thing that has done is clearly put the onus on the players to produce now they have led to Sando's sacking. Now we will find out if indeed the playing group DO have character, the ball is in their court now!
Lambasted is a bit of an exaggeration. You were calling people delusional and I called bullshit. My key thinking was there was no way a CEO comes on to tackle this job if they are sacking the most important person in the organisation without at least an opportunity to confirm he was comfortable to take on the job knowing that.
Having said that - it's clear you were on the money with the general sentiment and I'm happy to admit I was wrong to think he had more input than I thought he did.

So now they are saying it's a PR disaster. Why is it that nobody within here seems to see it like that?

I know it has come as a shock to a lot of people, and someone mentioned how well Gold Coast have done it with the rumour that McKenna will be given the flick soon, but I almost think the way we have done it is better for Sando and his family. I know some will shoot me down for that comment, but what would you prefer - weeks and weeks of media constantly asking you about your job, how would losing it impact on family etc etc, or copping it short and sweet? I think it would be stressful with a long drawn out saga for the coach and his family/friends.

Seems to be a lot of people who think we should have had a replacement all lined up prior to sacking Sando and announcing it, but I think they are missing the point which is - is Sando the right coach to get us a premiership? If not (which is the conclusion the club came to) then he needed to be sacked, regardless of who he might be replaced with.

Love this place. Our new coach is;

Stuart Dew - fact
Mark Thompson - fact
Al Clarkson/John Longmire - fact

Anyone else got more "facts "

I think anyone who makes up a bullshit rumour should have an astrix next to their name for life.... It is the most annoying thing about Bigfooty

Somewhat ironic that our BF board here may now be the AFC's strongest ally (in regards to understanding the real reasons behind the sacking) - unlike our previous status of being antagonists (or whatever Triggy called us).
