Was at the game today as a Sandringham supporter even though i barrack for the roos. It was an amazing game! In the first quarter it was 8 goals to none and just before half time Sandy were up by ten goals. Sautner had 8 goals straight at half time. The second half saw a huge comeback where Frankston kicked 11 goals to 3 in the 3rd and last quarter. The end margin was 8 points. Sautner ended up with 11 straight, how did this guy slip through and stay at VFL level for so many years? Read, McLean and Armstrong were standouts in the midfield. Jamar took some very important defensive pack marks to save the game in the last quarter. I never realised how big Jamar was, hes a monster!!

Excellent VFL player but nothing more. He doesn't have what it takes to be an AFL FF which is the only position he can play.

mclean for sylvia perhaps?

rotate the new guys

also bizzel has opened up a vacant spot

i think sylvia should stay...his confidence might be affected by being broguth in 4 1 game then being dropped

Sautner was unstoppable. He's the Tony Lockett of the VFL... just a machine.

I can't say I noticed Read too much, but he was named as our 2nd best!

How the Demons went:

Lamb was terrific at CHB. Spoiled well, backed himself and ran hard. Could be a chance for a promotion with Biz out but that's unlikely. Very good game after a shocker against Geelong.

Armstrong: Thought he was very good. I criticised him for being soft against the Cats but he was in and under the packs today, and got quite a bit of the ball (around 20-25 touches). Has a bit of toe. Might be recalled next week.

Bell: Pretty impressive... in fact he was very good for the second week running. Very strong overhead, penetrating kick and is very quick. One thing I've noticed is that he will ALWAYS play on after taking a mark (similar to Doggy Brown). I don't think this is a good thing as it means he turns the ball over a bit. Still, I would think he's a chance of debuting against the Lions on Sunday.

Fisher: Lots of the ball... little impact. The story of his career.

McLean: Wasn't bad, but I don't think it was one of his better games. Still got his 20 touches, but went cold in the second and third quarters. Used the ball well. Got run down twice which was disappointing. Doubt he'll get promoted yet.

Johnson: Spent a lot of the game on the bench... but when on he was quite lively. Has a raking left foot but needs to spend a lot of time in the gym, as the Frankston players were brushing his tackles off with ease.

Walsh and Rigoni: Both quiet.

Read: As I said, I don't think he was brilliant by any means, but was hard at the ball and delivered it well.

Jamar: Took a million marks.... absolute gun at this level but can he do the same thing in the AFL? We'll have to wait and see.

Smith: Can't remember him getting a kick. If he's not careful he might find himself in the Sandy 2's very soon.

Newman: Quiet day at the office.

Martin, maybe Smith could be dropped for Carson or Ferguson or possibly Chris Johnson, who's lightly framed & could benefit from some respite now. CJ will be back but we have to look after him a bit.

Joel Campbell in the goals too, he might be about to click, well done to him after a slow start.

Lukey Molan played a half & got through :D

Poor fadeout from the seniors, just like last week maybe injecting some hungrier blokes like Carson & Campbell could be an idea.

McLean was ok as was Bell apparently but no blokes really screaming out for a game there.

I'd bring Read in for Sylvia & Lamb in for Bizzell.

Read's toughness could be vital in Brisbane & Lamb too is a stronger type. Brisbane look vulnerable but this is no game for kids.

i know carson is in the sandy 2nds but so is fergeson and chris johnson?

fergy was playing melbourne footy last year :O

i'd suggest we give sylvia another game

Ferguson is on the comeback from a shoulder reconstruction and would've been in the Melbourne side from round 1 if not. He'll be back.

yeh if he was in the side, rivers wouldnt be :O

actually i think carroll would have been chosen ahead of fergy coz of his solid effort against barry hall in rnd 22 last year

though fergy will be back though

I don't think CJ has played Sandy reserves....yet!

Carson's almost exclusively a Full Forward & while Sautner is kickin 11 a game he could kick 22 & it'd count for little. Big blokes take time & all but unless he can develop his ruckwork or become versatile enough to play CHF/CHB as well, he's the new Nick Gill! :D

Fergo played 17 Dees games last year & was our best defender in Nicho's absence, he would've been in if fit.

my guess:

Sylvia to stay in

2 forced chages and from form, not much to bring it by the sounds of it...

Read for Thompson
Bell for Biz
