Best: Answerth, Shenton, Le Grice, Curren, Saunders, Sinclair

Quite possibly three of the four Saints players named there will be gone by the end of the week! Poor bastards, all gave it a good crack but just weren't quite good enough for AFL.

Answerth going the other way, surely wins the Sandy B&F and ends up at least on a rookie list next year.

Do the Saints listed guys get left out of the VFL B&F these days because you would think Answerth would be behind guys like Shenton who looks likely to win the VFL goal kicking this year and Eli who is a dominant in the midfield and didn't play much senior footy this year. Answerth looks good though and should get a rookie spot somewhere in 2017.

Eli has proven this year that he is too good for the VFL. Really hope he can iron out any deficiencies and give the AFL side a red hot crack next year.

Good to see Billy racking them up with 5 disposals and 1 mark! Also Eli with 33, 9 marks and a goal and not in the best!

Where has J-Webb disappeared to?

I know I will get slammed for even mentioning it but surely Billy must do better. Its bloody ordinary football and he is always near the ball so should be impacting it more than that. Without seeing him play he must really be down in confidence.

Says a fair bit about where Billy's at that he can only get 5 touches at VFL. He has also seemingly been overtaken by Holmes. A bit of soul-searching to be done by Billy over the off-season as he is miles off the AFL side at present. Hope he works his butt off just like Hickey has seemed to.

A few other youngsters seem to have overtaken Eli. I'd say if it wasn't for our solid injury run, he would have played games. Happy to keep him as backup. Would still have improvement in him. Would be interested to know if any clubs have enquired about him? I always see that as a good indicator of whether or not a player is good enough. Just like when Lyon didn't play Ledger and a host of keyboard warriors on here wanted him to get a game. Fair to say that when he was delisted no other clubs were keen - hence vindicates the decision not to play him.

I agree. As if they would lose confidence. Glad we on the same page. I don't or cant believe that.
I was talking about your post, not his. And I definitely don't agree that if someone starts to become the "whipping boy" amongst a supporter group and starts to cop abuse in particular like say a Raph did constantly from over the fence (some of which I have no doubt he would have heard) that that wouldn't affect their confidence. They're not robots. The new breed are also on social media themselves and would cop abuse on Twitter and so-on if they were the "whipping boy" and again, they would have to have some sort of iron wills to not let it affect them in any way, especially when they're probably doubting themselves already.

So I'm well and truly with Gringo on preferring to try to stop it before it gets anywhere near that point.

That doesn't include simply saying someone is playing below their best though, like you did above. That's very different from putting them down and calling them derogatory terms or names.

I cant or don't believe you were talking about my post. Impossible I was told by Gringo that posts like mine about Billings start people thinking that way at the footy so why wouldn't I believe the same about Longer. Anyway I reckon I have spoken to Raph at least 3 or 4 times about the booing and whilst he could be lying he said it had no effect on him at all. And they would cop stuff on twitter but if it effected them they would just delete social media as Jack Steven did.

Anyway I find it strange that my response was stupid but you agree with Gringo. I cant and don't believe it. Impossible.
