Why is this bloke still on our list? Did we sign him to a 5 year contract?

Not sure . Probably a bit harsh on my part Stevo didnt do that much but he looked better than smith. Hell bock looked bloody great compared to Smith , just not below Nathans knees . :D

I was at the Glenelg vs Port game today and this is my assessment of our crow players

Andrews - played better today but im still dont think he will ever play for the crows

Maric - some of his ruck work was quite good. His overall game was okay but nothing special.

Hinge - Had a quiet debut.Barely noticed him out there.

S.Stevens - started slow but ended up playing quite a good game. Finished with five goals and was one of Ports better players. He seems to be a good sanfl player but i dont think he is a regular afl player.

Also went to the Alberton game and kept an eye on some of your youngsters.

Got to the ground half time in the reserves specifically to see Bryce Gibbs play. Wasnt the standout performer I was expecting but moved well for one so young. Not overly quick and very slight (understandably) but a reasonable height (185ish) and should keep growing another few cms. Didnt say a thing out on the field and didnt get a heap of the ball...maybe 10 disposals in the second half, most of which were under a bit of pressure. Looks ok tho. Ill post a picture just after of him.

Maric im assuming was no.59. Dunno why he wasnt wearing his no.50. Big lump of a lad, reaosnably quick, bit lumbering and his skills were a bit down. Hardly got a kick up forward but did some very nice ruck work. He is huge for an 18/19 year old.

Scott Stevens was great. Quiet first half but kicked 4 in the second including 3 in a match winning last quarter. Should get a call up next week. 9 goals in 2 weeks deserves it.

Hinge was to put it bluntly, bloody average. Played about 3 and a bit quarters for what I could see was one handball. Pretty much just didnt know where to run, where to position himself, didnt seem to talk at all and didnt demand the football despite being in good position to get the ball a few times. Seemed very unwilling to get his hands dirty. Maybe he was a bit nervous in his first league game but he looked way out of his depth out there today.

I think thats all of them. Kreuger didnt play, Andrews played in the ressies but I wasnt paying much attention to him much. Adam Fisher is an absolute gun by the way.

Thanks heaps for that Macca. Gee, he is just a kid, isn't he. How old is he - couldn't be more than 16 IMO.

Sounds a good player in the making to me.

I think he is only 16. He does move well. Looks like a solid player in the making.

Thanks Macca19

We tend to push up the 1st year recruits very quickly, which raises unrealistic expectations.

Good to have an impartial (port???) view

Stevens has been bagged continually here but he's kicked 9 goals in 2 games and had a great Wiz game so the lad IMO is doing more to push for an AFL game V the hyped up recruits.

I agree though have to factor in first league game for Hinge and he would have had nerves - don't know of many first game players that have gunned it.

More I hear of Bryce the more of a clone of his dad I think he'll be

"impartial view". I wonder how Macca rated the Power players in the sanfl, all best on ground I would assume?

Well Ellis did some good things at woody oval but far far from BOG.
And I didnt notice PEEL in the seconds.

So those 2 werent BOG

Bryce Gibbs had 17 possessions against Glenelg yesterday. He was a bit quieter in this game but still player okay. Once again most of his disposals hit the target. Interestingly this week he was given a go on the ball for most probably ten or so minutes and aquitted himself quite well. He does seem very quiet on the field but he read the play very well. I think he can basically play anywhere and for a kid only 16 its scary to think there is heaps of improvement in him.

By the way Maric was 59 for Port magpies reserves yesterday, not 50 as stated in football budget.

Im sorry, I forget you are used to the afc.com reviews. Ill remember next time to put in high regard the actions of running, sitting on the bench, drinking from the water bottle and projectile spitting.

Are those AFC.com player reviews any different to the Macca19 dribbly Port player reviews. How did all your young "superstars" stand up today Mac??
