Eagles beat Glenelg by 6 points. :(

Richard Douglas was superb and had about 30 possessions and 5+ tackles. Kicked 2.2 and would’ve had about 10 clearances. Looked a class out there, but I just wish he didn’t act for so many frees.

Vince would’ve had about 20-25 possessions but IMO he didn’t play all that well. He won plenty of clearances but as usual I don’t think his disposals were all that damaging. He certainly knows how to find the ball but he needs to be more damaging when in possession. Too many times he just blazes away without really looking for an option.

McGregor was pathetic. Kicked 1 goal, set up a couple more but was pretty much invisible.

Devo :(

Outstanding once again. Probably wasted a few chances on goal, very uncharacteristic. Although it was a tricky breeze.

I can't believe how much his nous of where to run has improved late this season.

Some of his break-aways, where he read the ball off hands and took off with pace, were simply quite brilliant.

He's a big game player. As evidenced by his performances this finals series + his U/18 finals.

As for the free kicks, yeah you're probably right, but nothing wrong with getting an unwarranted freebie in your F50 :D. Us Crowies don't get any frees. Even when they are there!

Anyway, he was great. Big Pre-Season and should play all 22 games next year :thumbsu:

Once again I agree.

Lot of the ball, just lacked his usual class I thought. Although in a high-pressure game, you've probably got to move it on quicker.

His ball drop still shits me to tears :thumbsd:. He brings the ball so far up before he actually drops it. If he doesn't change that, he'll never have an AFL career.

McGregor was pathetic. Kicked 1 goal, set up a couple more but was pretty much invisible.

On his performance today, I'll be happy getting a half eaten peanut for him.

Hopeless!

Spent extended time on the pine, barely could raise a gallop :thumbsd:

What a shit way to go out, flukey hack off the ground landing on some dudes chest with about 10 seconds max to go :(

Andrew McIntyre, doesn't look with it.

Confusing. He was really good early in the year.

His past two performances have been great and there’s little doubt he was easily the Bays best player today. As you noted I too was impressed with his ability to break away from packs at full speed, and his delivery while on the burst was terrific. And I’ve always questioned his speed but he looked legitimately quick on a few occasions today.

Showed a lot of poise and class by waiting and picking the right option, as was the case when he set up Smith’s goal late in the final term. Would’ve delivered about 3 or 4 passes to forwards who didn’t have to break stride.

Great game, would’ve been even better had he finished better in front of goal.

Agreed, he looks out of sorts again. Decision making too slow and once again his intensity is appalling.

Forgot to mention Hinge whom I highly rate but he was pretty much useless today. Did a few nice things and took a few nice marks, got a fist on a number of forward entries, but just too many clangers and too many handballs which put team mates under pressure.

Injuries killed us.

Robbed us of a forward target before the match (Duldig, Sellar) and McConnell during the game (who was useless anyway)

Backwell going off with injury was the killer, had an absolute ripsnorter of a last term.

Personally, think we went in too short.

Yeh losing Backwell really hurt; he was awesome in the final term. Of all the times to get injured, when scores are level with 3-4 minutes left in an Elimination Final. :(

Now, can we delist Andrew McIntyre? Disposal is dead set horrible. Had about 10 possessions and at least half were turnovers, some went directly to the opposition. Awful, awful disposal.

Gill was very good. Kicked 2.2, had a 5 minute burst where he had 3 scoring oppertunities but kicked 1.2.

Griffin has been rather average, as usual. Wish we could see some of this potential and remarkable mobility we were promised...

BTW, Alan Obst isn't half bad.

He's buggered as far as getting promoted goes. More than likely won't even be retained on the rookie list the way he's going.

Excellent intensity. The free he won down the pocket, was typical Gill, throwing his body on the line. Griffin on the other hand.............

About zero intensity in that contest

very average

BTW, Alan Obst isn't half bad.

Typical Centrals player aint he? :D

Gotta say i agree re McIntyre.

He seems a little narrow up top in the strength department and doesn't seem to use what body he does have...a poor mans Ben Hart in that respect, without Ben's skill level.

Obst outmarks McIntyre, kicks his second.

Obst > McIntyre ;)

Still paying for him, let's re-draft him. :p Got incredible speed and love his agression, just needs to work on the kicking. But we drafted Gill and he's no better.

Vince was a stand out, and I thought his disposal was pretty good also.

Douglas & Gill struggle at goal kicking, so frustrating. Even though I go for the eagles I wanted Dougie to kick some of those goals.

BLOODY GILL, He is such a gun! But he can't kick! He is blitzing them, but as a forward you can blitz them around the ground, but what really counts is the amount of goals you kick or assist. 2.6 :thumbsd:

Centrals V Eagles Grand Final AGAIN.

Douglas and Gill should not be put in the same goal kicking category ever. Douglas is usually a very reliable kick for goal.

Decent. Certainly no standout.

Err what

Douglas is a very reliable kick for goal. Please don't lump him in the Gill category.

Centrals in another Grand Final.... yawn.

Probably playing the Eagles again..... yawn x 2

I wanted a North V Eagles Grand Final

either way I'd be happy who won. Prepare for another half empty stadium as people get tired of watching the same sh*t every year.

I would love Sturt to be there...but lets acknowledge the proffessionalism of Centrals as a club ...8 in a row...not even Port did that in the 50s, or Sturt in the 60s... Hawthorn did 7 in a row.

But that means Eagles won't be there...Not happening.

Can't wait till some of these Grand Finals come along...

Port V Norwood - that would sell out
Port V Centrals- Also would sell out
Centrals V Norwood- Would also be pretty big

I remember the Sturt V Centrals game was pretty big, there was biff in the crowd, was classic. I also remember that day cause they launched Vanilla coke that day and were giving it out.

Good result that day also.

They have money coming out of there ears. Deep down I am pretty sure the SANFL would be hoping that Centrals begin there downfall next year.
