A bit one sided I know but it makes an interesting read anyway. Maybe Rowan Adrews is a bit of late developer. Speaking to a couple of "scouts" they say that his improvement from 2002 to 2003 has been astronomical. However, we all agree there is a lot of work to do especially with his kicking. he can take a good grab and will have a genuine crack a bit like hudson

WEST VS GLENELG
Brad Dabrowski (West, Rookie List)
Playing the majority of the match at centre half forward and in the ruck, Dabrowski would have left the field more than happy with his performance on Saturday. Brad looked to make the most of his large physique, working hard to play in front and use his body accordingly. He managed to take some very strong marks while also working hard at ground level. Dabrowski’s work rate for the entire four quarters was impressive, always managing to compete at every contest. Every match reveals significant improvement from Brad Dabrowski.
Luke Jericho (West)
Playing at full forward in the first half, Jericho showed signs of being able to fill the vacancy in West Adelaide’s goal mouth. Luke provided a target for the running players and worked hard to bring the ball to ground for the crumbers. However, when moved to centre half back, Jericho displayed the confidence of one beyond his years. Whilst displaying the discipline to spoil from behind, Jericho also managed to take some telling marks deep in defence. Luke read the ball well, and always looked to kick long and direct. Overall an impressive effort from Luke Jericho.
Rowan Andrews (Glenelg, Rookie List)
Coming on just before half time, Andrews was thrown straight into the ruck. Rowan had an immediate impact on the match, rucking aggressively and displaying precision tapwork. As a result of Andrews’ efforts, Glenelg was able to score several times. During the third term Rowan continued to have an influence on the efforts of his team, continuing to jump hard at the ball and tap with both left and right hands. Throughout the remainder of the match Andrews impressed with his energy and aggression. For a man of his size, Rowan chases and tackles hard, looking to be involved in as many contests as possible.
Jacob Schuback (Glenelg)
Running off from a half back flank, Schuback displayed the dominance of a would-be AFL footballer. Jacob gathered multiple possessions by both hand and foot, and was strong at the football both on the ground and in the air. Particularly in the second half, Schuback managed to find a significant amount of space continuing to be involved in all aspects of the game, whether it be attacking or defending. 2004 looks to be a ground breaking season for Jacob Schuback.
NORWOOD VS NORTH
James Gallagher (Norwood)
Gallagher produced an excellent performance on Saturday. Whilst playing on the ball for the first three quarters, James found an enormous amount of the ball while working hard both up and down the field. Against disappointing opposition, Gallagher stamped his authority on the match from the first siren and found little competition from his opponents. James was moved to the back pocket for the final quarter, where he displayed excellent discipline and teamwork. He showed respect for his opponent by giving him little space. Coaching staff were impressed with Gallagher’s understanding of the team concept.
Tim Hazell (Norwood, Rookie List)
Hazell’s work rate and attitude was fantastic for the entire four quarters on Saturday. Tim looks to be becoming a fine SANFL footballer and in time could step up to the next level. The running midfielder looked to relish in the opportunity to play on ball for the entire match, gathering countless possessions and was always a step ahead of his opposition. Tim Hazell will most certainly play a major role in Norwood’s premiership campaign this year.
PORT VS SOUTH
Ronnie Burns (Port)
Playing up forward all day, Ronnie Burns’ performance was a class above the rest. In true “Ronnie” tradition, the experienced goal sneak displayed typical bursts that can crush the opposition. Throughout the day Ronnie shared the ball amongst his team mates, setting up goals while also kicking two himself. Burns’ skills were excellent by either hand or foot, and when the opposition gained possession he maintained the pressure with great examples of chasing and tackling. Overall Ronnie Burns would be well satisfied with a fantastic team effort.
Jason Torney (South)
Jason Torney had a solid day out on Saturday, working hard for the entire four quarters. The former Tiger displayed excellent skills, with his precision clearing kicks a feature. Torney looked to provide run out of defence and through the centre, and his decision making skills were very sound. Jason’s second efforts and “one percenters” were again fantastic, his chases and tackles were a fine example of this. With the extra match practice, Torney’s return to the senior side looks to be sooner rather than later.
EAGLES VS CENTRALS
Hayden Skipworth (Eagles)
Skipworth produced a great effort over the weekend and looks to be emerging as a fine young footballer. Hayden didn’t put a foot wrong for the entire match, making the most of every disposal. When attacking, he was consistently able to display clean ball handling and was able to take the ball and dispose of it whilst under pressure with precision. When defending, Skipworth was excellent in that he chased and tackled hard at every opportunity. Hayden also managed to work extremely hard to get to every contest and worked to receive the ball.
Nathan Bock (Eagles)
Playing at full back, Nathan Bock nullified the efforts of his opponent after returning from an ankle energy. Although only on the ground for the first half, Bock managed to prevent the opposition full forward from having an impact on the match, playing a true defender’s role. Bock also attempted to provide run out of defence and made the most of limited opportunities. Adelaide’s coaching staff would be pleased to see Nathan get through the match unscathed.
