Ok mods I'll leave out that other theory started by the other posters but I still find it strange more people and the media, given it's poor record, aren't wondering what she, a 22yo was doing with him, a 47 year old guy, in th first place.
Maybe out of respect for her mourning family?
Do they come on bigfooty? How long should we wait? Like I said if we can prevent future things like this happening...

I think everyone has an idea, but it doesn't change anything.
Cancat sucks as a test dummy.cancat to be your test dummy ?
The original sentence doesn't really seem that out of step with sentencing for similar crimes. Personally I can't see much of a problem with it based on what little I've read. Murder is very upsetting on a personal level but the reality is that recidivism rates are incredibly low. Claiming the judge stuffed up is just playing Monday morning quarterback. The details of the crime are disturbing to read but in reality it was a very ordinary, tawdry little murder with little to suggest that the perpetrator would reoffend a couple of decades down the line.
It would be interesting to read a bit more background about how the crimes he committed since release have been treated though.
Just wow!
You dont think 13 years for murder sends out the wrong message?
And I'm sure the victim's family see it as more than a "tawdry little murder".
You have an interesting perspective. And blinding lack of logic.Harsh punishment doesn't have a significant impact on crime rates. Specifically regarding murder, someone who is going to murder another is still going to do it regardless of whether the sentence is 13 years or 130 years of eating dog shit for breakfast lunch and tea.

It's a public forum ffs! People are talking about it because it's interesting, I don't know of any 22-year olds who hang around with 47-year old convicted crims on a social level. It's pretty obvious what you're getting at. The shit thing about it is that it's under the guise that you actually give a shit about the well being of kids but really you just want to gossip about a girl that was murdered only 2 weeks ago.
That's the way democracy works, the needs of the majority are what count. The 'victim's family' are just an insignificant minority.Just wow!

Yeah fair enough mate. Let's just slap these murderers with good behaviour bonds and be done with it![]()
