my favourite bit:-
A real sign that things were different was following the meeting with the coaches when the players asked the coaching staff to leave so we could have our own players’ meeting. This was important as we discussed the importance of keeping the victory in perspective and maintaining our focus on the season ahead, in particular round one

I wonder which players suggested that, and who actually asked the staff to leave? :)

I'd imagine it would have been someone like Kouta or Lappin, Fev, maybe

I'd say the leadership group would have had a rather large hand in that.

Leadership group... ahh so pretty much the whole senior side decided. I'm surprised Silvagni's kids aren't already in the leadership group too...

But in all seriousness this is the sort of thing that really catches the eye. Shows that the playing group are really focused this season. Great to see.

It's OK to get excited people. By golly I am starting too!

Carlton supporters seem so damn scared of getting excited these days it's not funny!

BRING BACK THE ARROGANCE!!

Well I'm not scared, after the past few years I'm used to being disapointed, so what's there to be scared of, it can't get any worse.

So I'm excited that we're favourites against Richmond on Sunday, I'm excited about our young, talented, tall, strong and fast list, I'm excited about how many games we could win and I'm even excited that we may have a game or two to play in September.

And if ultimately I am left a little disapointed, so be it, I'm no worse off than I have been for years!

Gee i wonder why we get scared to express our excitement... :thumbsd:

i rather look forwards and not deweller in the past as a lot seem to be doing :thumbsd: time to look ahead get ya mind out of the Past looking back won't make things change wish it could but whats hapend gone for ever :thumbsu:

i certainly wasn't referring to previous years. I was referring to people on this board who enjoy belittling the posters who do get excited.

By all means everyone, jump on board the excitement train :) It's good to have footy back. :thumbsu:
