I picked up (snogged) a guest at the hotel where I work. First time I've done this. She was beautiful. Kinda like a blonde Rachel Griffiths.

My problem was this: She was very drunk, and was married with kids back home. Now the married/kids bit is up to her, if she wants to play around, that's cool. But I didn't sleep with her because I thought she'd regret it/crack it the next day. I didn't want her being all upset that she'd slept with me on a drunken whim, and/or complain to my boss and get me sacked.

Saying no was the hardest thing I've ever done!

What makes you think she would have spoken to your management, if it did happen she would be as guilty as buggery(which is not your problem) and the last thing she would have done is go to some manager of a hotel to complain she had consensual sex with you.

Pete I'm sure in some ways you're probably still kicking yourself for not taking the opportunity but you definitely did the right thing. Perhaps it would have been a more simple decision for you (either way) if she'd been totally sober and made a move on you, at least you'd know she really knew what she was doing.

Perhaps the way to go is to apply the following test

IF Social Cost+ Financial Cost + Criminal cost + Medical Cost x percentage probability of bad things happening > cost of hiring a prostitute of comparable quality THEN a knockback should result.

So, for example, in this instance.

Pete getting fired = say he earns $36 grand a year, and it takes him a month to find a new job once he gets his marching orders- $3 000

Criminal Cost- NA. No loss of liberty, or criminal charges are going to result, unless Pete failed to mention she was a 15 year old with a husband and kids!!

Social Cost- By the looks of these responses, is clear that there is no social fallout from boofing a hot, married women, anything but. In fact Pete may actually experience some financial gain courtesy of mates buying him drinks whilst he tells them how he boofed some hot married woman. + $100 worth of drinks and general self esteem boosting and so on.

Medical Cost- If she's married, minimal chance of him picking anything up along the way, since chances are she doesn't play the field often. Some possibility of her husband find out and coming after him with a cricket bat. Lets call it a $300 in medical bills times a 10% chance of this actually happening, so - $30.

Chance of her telling his boss. Hmm, the fact that she's drunk might lead to her changing her mind when sober- nothing like the good old beer goggles. On the other hand, its consensual, and as mooster points out, at some level she made the decision to get ****ed and head after him. We'll call it a 20% chance of her getting Pete into the **** with his boss, so all our costs have to be multiplied by that.

How much is she worth? Well, if she was a good as Pete is making out, she probably equates to a high class, 'executive' prostitute, the sort who makes her money from overseas businessmen with expense accounts. So, (From what I've heard)maybe $750 for the night?? Its just going to be a one off, so no repeat value.

So: ($3000 + $30 - $100) x 20% = $586 of theoretical costs to Pete if he takes her up on her offer.


$586 < $750

Therefore, Pete was being offered pretty decently priced nookie , about $200 off the real value. He should have gone for it.

In reality, I wouldn't have gotten in trouble. I did hear from the morning clerk that her hubby was calling all morning and she didn't/couldn't answer her phone....and he apparently sounded 'mad'. But angry cuckold + 650km + she doesn't know my surname = no worries.
