Do you have a source for these statistics? I think that the estimate of the worlds population is 8 billion or some such?

Anyways, you’re misreading the phrase. “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is speaking directly to those, as you point out, actually do this. And the point of the phrase is asking those people to look a bit more closely and don’t make all of your assumptions on the basis of appealing packaging.

Of all the confusing sayings in the world, I’ve always found this one pretty straightforward
How dare you ask me to provide evidence when I'm talking shit.

I think it was one of those pop-research things that morning television use to pad out their running time. So probably has a dubious basis in reality but I stand by it nonetheless.

Asking people to provide references for shit-talking is a BF classic response. I thought you knew the rules.

Also I apologise and take it back. If your source was pop-research on morning TV I am prepared to give it a thumbs up

Morning television is a guilty pleasure of mine. Its such disposable trash and the filler segments that are just thinly veiled ads are hilarious.

"Well we've all heard the saying 'Don't judge a book by its cover.' But perhaps you do!

Research has found that 6 out of 10 Australians use the cover as the main factor when deciding whether or not to purchase a book.

To tell us more we're joined by the head of market research at Harper Collins, who is really just here to promote their new releases."

I would love to write their scripts!

It would be nice to say “research has found” or “scientists have discovered” without the tedious business of providing references.

I even know how I would produce it. “Scientists have found” quickly goes to a guy with a beard with books behind him (psychology or sociology piece) or a younger guy with specs and a lab coat (human biology) and they just read a script. Great stuff!

Science has found that children who eat weetbix each day are statistically less likely to experience bone density disorders or attention deficit issues during schooling. We pass now to the legendary fast bowler for Australia, Brett Lee….

Neil Daniher had me confused a bit with his motto “when all’s said and done, more is said then done”. Seemed very odd and I’m probably pretty stupid not putting it together, but I guess he is saying something along the lines of “actions speak louder than words” and even saying that we make more promises, commitments, affirmations then are actually followed up.

Don’t mind him saying it though. It makes you think about what he means and thinking is a good place to start.

Breaks my brain everytime Gawn brings it up.

I get nervous about my brain breaking every time Gawn goes into “but seriously folks” mode
I like it when he explains our long rivalries with 17 other clubs.
