people who jump the boat after two weeks and getting players in are gonna regret it later on...who knows JB might get 70 this week.

He might, but his BE is 17 so he's still a bargain right now!

The thing about JB is that he's capable of big scores over decent periods of time. He only played 10 games in 2006, but averaged 140 over them, and then managed to stay on the park for all of 2007 at 111 points per week ... he also looks fitter and in better form now than he has been for some time, and is still only 28yo.

I'm confident he's looking at a 110+ average score this season, which would say get him in now.

quick q guys, if i have one of those multi posi players, say a fwd/mid in the fwd line, can i trade a mid out, move him there and bring in a dif fwd??

Fugg it, I'm backing both Clark and Tippett in.

They're both quality players. Both had good NAB Cup form. I picked both as keepers, and trading them in on the basis of two games is just panic-selling.

Solid advice. Just got another 10 minutes to keep my hands busy.

Raines > Malceski??

B: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Hurn, Waite, Waters, Silvagni (Raines & Maguire)

Yes but there is no reason to use 2 trades on him and then you have have use more trades to cover up the players downgraded to get JB..Use him as an upgrade target, especially so early on IDK how much you will save to get him in but its certainly not worth 2 trades... People who wait out will get him when his form is down and is cheaper, sure it wont be as cheap as now but then at least they have plenty of trades for later on...JB lose form and Goodes might hit form...who knows. Its just dumb to trade now and waste more trades when there will be opportunites later on

Out of interest, and I can't believe I have to ask this...but how does the MPP work? I mean, do you have to actually do anything to "activate" it? I have Tippett in the FWD line for eg...if my #2 ruck misses, and neither of my emergencies play, how does it come into play?

yeh doesnt work as well as i wanted it to! u can only swap them around if u had two players who you could, whereas i was thinking id be able to trade away a mid, move my fwd/mid there from the fwd line and bring in a fwd..unless someone can tell me how in 4 mins lol

Yeah, has got me buggered.

OK, I made it to lock-out without making any trades. Am happy, but still questioning whether it was the right move. I'm kinda stuck in a no-man's land, limbo sitiation ATM, in regards to my objectives for this game- am sort of aiming for both league AND overall, which makes trading all the more tedious. Came about 500 last year, so whilst I don't think i can realistically win it, I'd like to give it the best shot I can. For overall, Hurn > Malsexi and Hall > JB would've been the better move probably...oh well, too late now.

Thats the smartest thing i have read in a while, i was going to do that all week been tossing to keep Tippet or not.
I decided to keep but with 20mins left i taded him for Kruezer. based on the facti've lost faith in Tippet only cause its a injury concern for me rather than his form, also pretty much everyone in my 3 leagues have Tuppet and nobody has Kruezer, so i am hoping he can be my gambreaker in close contests.

MPP Primer: you can only use it when you have two players with the same MPP eligibility, in different positions. Ie. a Mid-Forward in the forward line and a Mid-Forward in the midfield. You can swap them whenever you like.

What many people have done, myself included, is bought Kurt Tippett as a forward (MPP Ruck-Forward). If he works out as a forward, great. We've also bought a gigantic spud by the name of Matthew Lobbe (MPP Ruck-Forward) who sits in the 4th ruck slot. He's unlikely to play any games, and if he does he's unlikely to make any impact. He's not going to make money, cos 4th rucks never do. I have no intention of him EVER going on the field for my team.

BUT... he's there so that if one of my first two rucks go down, I have the option of switching Tippett and Lobbe, playing Tippett as second ruck and Lobbe moves from ruck bench to forward bench, and my (assuming in this scenario superior) forward bench coverage comes in to play.

It's also one of the reasons I've got Brent Harvey in the midfield. At any stage I can switch him with Pav, ROK, Danger or Ziebell, if and when the need arises to do so.

What trades did you all end up making?
Other news: Ball off to a flyer in the first quarter.
I went with Clark>Seaby
Hall>Dangerfield

Onya Faz :)

I ended up going:

Clark > Seaby (Sorry Mitch)
Hall > Brown

I'm not the biggest fan of the first trade, but there's just too much money to be made on Seaby and I'm really subscribing to the LiverpoolRed theory on Clark. Hoping that Seaby becomes a keeper and Hille > Clark/Cox when they drop around the 400k mark.

Decided on Brown over ROK for the extra $50k I'd get for future upgrades.

So I'm down to 18 trades, with 100k in the cap.
