I was just wondering what other Cats supporters thought? Should Scarlett be the AA full-back? Going by the stat that he has let through just 16 goals i think it is now, maybe he should be considered. Personally I was thinking Rutten or Glass but going by a stat like that and his attacking play, he should probably snag it. Maybe we are a bit harsh on him sometimes because he is normally extremly brilliant, and this season he has not reached those levels but still been very good. What do u rekon?

Everyone from Geelong knows he is still the best.

You're preaching to the choir.

It will be between Rutten, Scarlo and Carrol IMO. All had good years, but i think the difference between Scarlett and the other two is that he attacks the ball more and runs creates more play through the midfield. But after saying that, i still think he is 3rd in line.

Adelaide's complete domination would mean Rutten gets it, unless Craig gives him a few more spells up forward.

Yeah it helps when you have a midfield that shuts down the opposition's midfield, and limits 'silver service' delivery to the forward line (like GFC did in 2004). It makes it much easier for the full back. This year, Geelong haven't shown much of that (I think we are last in clearance %) and Scarlett, whilst being very good, probably wont compare to Adelaide who have conceded less than any other side.

the best player doesn't necessarily get AA. If they did Milburn would of been picked in the past. It comes down to who is good enough...and then who is the favourite of the panel that decides the team. In that sense, Scarlo wont be picked because the panel will go for Rutten. That's my prediction. But I hope Scarlo makes it because he is a gun.

My opinion of All-Australian selection was decided forever when they gave Pavlich the nod as fullback in 2002, just so they could get him in the team. He played fullback once that year and got thrashed by Richo.

Ultimately, it's a popularity contest. The selectors all love Craig, so they all love Adelaide, so Rutten will get the nod.
