Schammer staying

Ok i no a lot of people have been hearing a lot of crap about the possibility of Schammer heading home or even to Victoria or more specifically Essendon but i have it on very very good authority it is no chance of occuring.
I played a lot of junior footy with Byron and played under his Dad on several occasions and built up a fair relationship with both guys. Last night while out and about in Loxton i ran into his Dad and had a quick chat about the future of his boy and he said he is staying a Docker, he loves the lifestyle and has a lot of good mates and owns two houses in Perth already.

And on top of that he said that even if Byronw as to come back to Adelaide down the track he would move back to Perth when it was finished for him, Perth is his home.

Schammer is like Kerr. Clubs like to dream about getting them. It aint happening, although Schammer may want to return to SA someday.

One thing in Perth/Fremantle's favour is it is a great place to live. Relatively speaking more players either want to come back to WA or once here are willing to stay.

Great news about Byron though.

Makes Fremantle's team stability easier to maintain when players are happy to stay because they have made a home in WA.

Since Byron Schammer's stunning season in 2003 there is always plenty of interest and rumours involved with him. Seems to have become a slight fringe player this season, which makes the rumours more believable. I would like to see Byron become a household name next year. Big fan of him.

Too true. Makes the McConnell decision all the more puzzling. Although he was a 17yo when he came over.

He has had injuries but he is getting better every year

Why is it puzzling? McConnell would be about 10th in line for our midfield, he is homesick and is from Melb (a considerably better place than Adelaide).

Lets be honest, Adelaide is a ******** hole. That has to be the reason why players dont want to go home there.

Gee, that really tested me...good job

I always think, and I am sure there are others out there like me, who look back at Schammer's 2003 (debut) season and think of him as under-achieving at Fremantle.

I watched him play a few games in SA for the U16's State comp, way back then LOL, and he stood out all the way, had champion written all over him, so have faith, I have

While Adelaide is a hole and Perth has it all over that place as far as lifestyle and chicks go.....Freo will never loose a SA aussie player in his prime or about to reach his prime.
Pavlich going home at the END of his career excluded of course, as I anticipate something along the Wells deal.
