Round 9 at home against the hawks (purple haze game) is the target for his Fremantle debut. He pulled up better than expected after the weekend and will either play close to a full game for Subi reserves or a half for the league side this week.

Unless he's gonna hold down FF and kick 4 goals a game I think we should give the youngsters a go before him.

It's certainly not time to throw in the towel and play the kids. Sure we are struggling to score goals, but Schofield, Polak, Hadrill, Headland and Hayden slotting into other areas of the ground will see our forwards get more opportunity. Schammer, Bell and Hasleby are not yet fully fit, so within 3 or 4 weeks we will be close to full strength (apart from Polak), and if we don't have any long term injuries in the next few weeks we should have a pretty exciting second half to the season.

I'd prefer to see Dunn and Dodd having a regular run. If McManus is dropped permanently than I'd be happy to have Schofield and one of those two kids play.

If schofield has retained his pace he simply has to be in the side.

I'm not a huge fan, but we need pace.

Where is Hayden?

get schoey out on the field! he will hit pavlich on the chest every single time

wonderful passer by foot

how is he going now? did he do well for subi?

Hes been doing OK for subi, but lets face it, when the team has a percentage of 250, its pretty safe to say its pretty easy out there.

What is schofield like for pace? I think we really do lack a bit of pace in the midfield. We've got alot of endurance type guys (bell, hasleby and co) but i don't think we're got some genuine pace out there.

According to the west
Schofield: "Struggled to get into the contest but finished the match"

Macca: "Had 34 possies in a hardworking performance"

Dunny: "Restricted dangerous forward Alan Wilson to two goals"

SOB: "A damaging player in bursts, Peake ran hard on the wide expanses of Wonthella Oval"

One Melee: "Did well a a key defender against taller opponents lile Macdougal and Dion Woods in his first game back from a knee injury"

Woodsie: "Had a purple patch in the second quarter with 14 possessions but faded"

MJ: "A quiet game. was beaten by Andrew Macarry and reported"

Potato: "Started at FF but found it difficult to shake his Joondie Woondie shadow"

K1W1: "The key forward didn't get much game time and only had four possesions"

Happy: "Rarely plays a bad game at WAFL level and his work in defense was again critical to Sowf's victory"

Toby: "Was used off the interchange bench and gained some confidence boosting touches"

interested in knowing others opinions of dunn? hes not going to get accolades by playing in the backline and stopping a player is he? should he be given a chance in the AFL instead of say webster/smith this week

Peake would have earnt a spot before him IMO. Actually this game would be a good chance to bring in a bit of pace which will be needed against the young hawks.

Saw Schoey on the tv in the Peel v Subi match, didn't have much of the footy, but like Heath Black, everything he did do, he did it to perfection....but saying that, I'd give him another run at Wafl level for fitness, unless CC wants him only to play a 1/2 at Afl level.

Ryan Crowley surprised me though, got a heap of the ball as a Half back flank, & sure his disposal was a bit shoddy against the wind, but he read the play brilliantly. Then kicked 4 goals in the last term going forward...great move by staff keeping him on the list, albeit as a rookie, he may still have a role to play.

Judging by our fade out against the Bombers, Schofields experience might be necessary for our next away game. Having said that, I'd rather our current midfielders pull their socks up and then bring in a younger player instead.

Disagree...Schofield would compliment our midfield beautifully...what is the point of playing a younger in front of him, if he is the better player...we are playing to be a Top 6 team, not a Top 8 wannabe.

For me, Dunn has "dunn" nothing to impress me so far, Schammer will come in for Smith this week, so who are these other young players we have, midfield? Browne has been on the list almost as long as Cunningham has, until he was chopped last year, whilst Stribling has only just made it back to EF league side. Peake's disposal is a worry still, on a par with McManus'.

he is quicker than the average joe, and is willing run the lines and has very very good footskills. His passing by foot is precision, and he rarely misses a shot on goal on the run.

He is a running player, and used to be very quick, though he has lost pace is still quick enough. But he still thinks he's as quick as he used to be, so gets caught a few times now and then. Just needs to realise he's slowed down.

Very under rated player though, hope he finds form and gets a spot on ur first team.

Don't see Dodd as a midfield type, see him as an occasional midfield tag/come half back tag...eg the Embley tag. Didn't have the legs to go with Lenny Hayes in Round 2. If he gets back in the team, it'll be as a half back flanker in place of a Siegert or Grover.

The fact that Dunn is playing down back is a concern. You would like to think he would be playing onball for the sharks, especially considering they are a fairly poor side. He seems to lack pace, which aslong as you can win your share of clearances isn't a problem, but he's not going to do that from half back. I don't think he would have the pace to play on dangerous small/medium forwards at AFL level. Webster and Smith are miles ahead of him at this stage.

How is the dodggy back? One good sh&& mixer and he is gorn!!

I don't think his back injury is a concern anymore, but gaining form after 4 months off at his age may be.

Good point.

There have been plenty of players who play good footy on brains alone. If his kicking is ok and he puts his body on the line to help his mates. Thats all you can ask.

Cant wait to see how he polishes up with the anchor on his chest.
