Just wondering out of all the year 12 people here who is going to schoolies week and whether they have booked and for past people if they went and did they have fun?

im going and i have eveything booked and stuff and i have heard that its a lot of fun!

Last year we stayed at a mate's holiday house in Phillip Island (Smith's Beach), and the house was an absolute hole. Thre was this beautiful house across the street that these 12 guys paid $1000 (8 of us were made to pay $60 each for a piece of crap) for the week . They booked in February of last year, so I would say be thankful that you have everything oganised.

Won't be going to Gold Coast. Looking at lorne or Torquay, maybe the Island. See what happens...

A friend of mine has an apartment on the Gold Coast, so a bunch of friends and I are hopefully going up this year. I've pretty much convinced the parents, although they're worried about all the stories you hear from the gold coast about being assaulted/stabbed/drugged, etc. Has anyone been there to give some advice about this?? And is it as bad as people make it out to be?

Im thinking about going up there when/if I finish yr 12. My mates got a holiday house somewhere, so Ill most likely be there.

Itll either be that or somewhere past Geelong.

Torquay was good this year although it was invaded by Sunbury people. Both the Torquay and JanJuc pubs go off when there full.Everyone got along well up there besides a few small scuffles it was a pretty good week.
P.S-Avoid something called the booze cruise if your down the west coast.;)

Schoolies Week

Im going to the Goldie, but I live on the Sunshine coast in QLD, like 2 hrs from the Gold Coast, so its pretty much expected, nearly everything that is near Caville Av is gone, we booked at the end of november last year, and a few guys I know just booked theirs and the closest they got to Caville was 1.3km away. So everyone whos even thinking of going to Queensland and going to the Goldie for Schoolies, ring up and inquire now or book. Well wherever yous go, hope you have a hell time, I definetly plan to...........;)

I live on the Gold Coast, im in Year 12, and at the end of the year I will be in Surfers.
My friends and I already have a apartment booked for the week.

If it makes you feel better, I went to Schoolies in 1993.

lol

Actually, when we went we ended up camping next to a load of guys who have been going for the last four years straight. Nice boys, too.;)

Schoolies aint as bad as what they report on the news. There are plenty of fights but you have to put it in perspective. If i go to a party with say 80 people, there are always 2 or 3 fights. Put 15000 people in one mall, there's gonna be a number of fights and brawls. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Had the best time and some of my mates still go every year just for something to do......
And a private note to all the guys going......make sure you break up with your girlfriends before you go.......trust me, you will enjoy the holiday a lot more as there is plenty to choose from ;)

But there's nothing worse than those guys trying to recapture their lost youth.......

Yeah rickster, it was pretty pathetic, but I think I can forgive camping next to 25-odd guys between the ages of 19 and 23.

I went to Lorne in 1999 for a week.

The ppl that went to Lorne for schoolies, Where did u guys stay. WE (my mates and I) stayed at the Lonre Foresore camping ground, it was really good coz they had a section only for the schoolies ppl.

For a while it was either Byron Bay or the Gold Coast, but then my parents said that I had to pay for it if I was to go outside of Victoria, so I'm just going down to Portsea/Sorrento with a whole group of friends. Free accomodation - way to go ;)
