some of that form. it's been one week. but agree woud be great if he could translate that into afl.

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima

Good on him, let him lead Coburg to a Premiership, because he sure as hell won't be leading Richmond to one.

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima

Maybe Coburg are using a simple game plan, kick it long as quick as you can to a leading forward? If you muck around with the ball like Wallace's team this year you give the opposition time to "zone" back and block the space for leading forwards.

It could be that simple:thumbsu:

Richmond are trying to use the Hawthorn cluster and Geelong like running with the ball. Too much time to think and make a mistake.:thumbsd:

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima

I don't think Schulz has ever lost the ability to mark and kick (his set shots went a biff off late last year) however he is a lead up forward. Give him space in the forward 50 to lead to and Nahas at his feet and were are off to the races.

He can look to be a little lazy on the field and maybe he doesn't work hard enough for his kicks, however he wouldn't need to work so much if the ball was delivered fast and direct.

Richmond players are so scared off the ball being run off the half forward line that by trying to pin point targets they over possess and end turing it over on the wings and half back line.

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima

They don't kick it to him, because he doesn't command it. At Coburg he's one of the big boys, so he commands it and players look for him.

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima

Other then the always crap disposal and the shoddy Richmond game plan of giving the opposition as much time as possible to flood back before unleashing a mongrel punt to a 3 on 1 contest,

I’ve always said I would love to see Schultz played deep forward for a couple of games consecutively as used as a focal point. Instead he is always being switched around the ground and like a lot of our players looks confused and demoralised.

:)Look at the positive...he went back, got a rocket put up him and responded. Did all that he was asked and maybe better off for it!

Right on. Sunday was a joke until Wallace finally threw Richo to full forward. Who is Wallace trying to fool with all the constant forward set up changes. Certainly wasn't the Demons on Sunday.

And the biggest joke was having Nahas set up at CHF for more centre bounces than I care to remember. Something to be said for being flexible, but Nahas at CHF???? And having Brown as a deep focal point when we move the ball as fast as 3 legged dog is almost criminal.......

Still very unhappy, between Jetstar and Wallace it was a f****d weekend

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima

Schulz should not have been dropped.
(Reiwoldt & Morton both got less of it against The Doggies... as a team we kicked 10 goals... yet we punted a tall forward target and replaced him with Nahas!)

Wallace then had no choice but to use Richo deep forward for most of the game because apart from Jack (who has lost form) there was no other option.

Snake does not count... he scares me when I see him plonked in the forward 50.

For some reason, with a critical "must win game" (understatement), our coach changes the set up in the forward 50 by taking out a tall and replacing him with a small.
(I still agree with Nahas coming in but he needed someone else to crumb to)

I'm finding it hard not to blame Wallace and the selectors for Sundays loss actually...

Re: Schultz back to Coburg - 7 goals, the eternal ignima
