I am genuinely unsure of this one. He is obviously not the same player and is making mistakes at times that he would never make in his prime. However his best is still.very good.

If the record was not just around the corner I would probably lean toward this being his last year. But that is a big carrot and he is the Legend.

apart from a couple of quieter games and one stinker early in Opening Round he's been the Pendles of old this year

Probably for not improving enough to salvage whatever mystery ailment Wilbur is suffering to cause him to no longer be a 40 goal kicker
he needed a knee operation just to clean out loose bodies in that right knee in the 2018 offseason somehow this transferred to a left knee injury and a ball of fluid he barely kicks multiple goals nowadays but i am aware he's more a broad utility than a specialist forward now

What!!!!! If he was 20 years old we'd be in raptures after his performance today. What are you sniffing?

in a rare bit of praise Dunstall even said Pendles looked 20 when he had that vintage candy selling clearance leading to the Beau goal

I am not basing it on one game, and I am sitting on the fence at the moment. It would appear the club is as well given Pendles comments.

Just seems to be the approach we’re taking with all our olds. Given he’s still easily in our best midfield and wants to go on, he’ll go on

I got the impression the club is not discussing an extension at this stage.
he is 37 so definitely a good decision to put him in the wait and see bracket post bye because the end can come quick as we have seen with (albeit different positioned) Tom Hawkins , Joel Selwood , Buddy Franklin among a few over the last couple of years

I was surprised how little respect he was given today. He's more than adept at finding space but there were points today where he had aeons.

414th game in the bag.

12 games to equal Tucky.

Assuming he plays on next year, he'll be the same age Boomer was when Brad Scott shafted him.

The club might opt to continue with only 2 out Howe, Steele, & Pendles.

I wouldn't rush that decision. Arguably, Howe and Steele are even more important than the great man.
