What? We currently have both, and will have the ability to have both for as long as we want. I'm sure Macrae is getting invaluable advice from Pendlebury on how to have long-term success. It's not a case of one or the other, I'm not sure why you're trying to paint it out as one.

You also keep bringing up the case of Hawthorn veterans who got shipped out. We only ever hear about how glad the teams that got them were that they could add such veteran leadership. We never hear about Hawthorn being glad about doing so, because they weren't!

Why on earth did they give Hodge a position on the field when they could have called someone younger like the talented Karnezis.

Would have been premiers by now....

There’s more than 1 position in the team.
McCrae or Greenwood, Mayne, C Brown, WHE, Thomas, Sier, Etc etc.

Do you think we have enough capable kids to fill all those spots as well as Pendlebury’s?

Apparently there's no coaches.. players.. other staff members.. at the club.. seriously.. Robson mentored Mourinho and Ferguson.. Mourinho and Ferguson's opinions now count for shit? If you're so big on Pendlebury as a mentor.. is there no one else?

The leaps you're making are ridiculous. Neither I nor anyone else in this thread has argued as such. However, Pendlebury is the greatest Magpie of the modern era, is the current captain, is currently still the best midfielder in the team in his early-mid 30s, has a very strong strategic understanding of the game, and has an exceptional understanding of the physical requirements of the game, hence his longevity. He arguably has the most to share of any of our leaders at the club.

I legit have no clue what your point is. I'm not sure you do either

What are the flow on effects at the club with Pendlebury being used as a mentor.. others have not learnt from him.. pass on that knowledge?

Mate I'd have 2 young guns in the guts over a Pendlebury and a Mccrae every day of the week. Would rather have them learn and grow together..

Probably need to do your research on who Robson Ferguson and Mourinho are..

It's like you're telling me that shit ain't passed on from generation to generation.. Pendlebury mentors Adams.. Adams mentors who.. I suppose the knowledge he gained from Pendles means shit when he's mentoring.. why.. because it didn't come from the horses mouth?
