Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?
The role he seems most suited to in the modern game is defensive midfielder / tagger. I thought he was sensational against Carlton in blunting Cripps. To me it was a split decision for BOG in that game between Schultz, Cameron and Pendles. Schultz won it deservingly, I loved his game.He has reinvented his game majorly this season. His kick % (kicks as a % of his total disposals) is 33%. This is down 20% from the previous two seasons, and down significantly from his 50% career average. He is using his hands more than ever, and is doing so with effectiveness.
He seems to be opening up the play for others a lot more, getting the footy in the coalface and flicking it into space for Nick/Sidey/Crispy/Lipinski/etc., often doing so with some ridiculous over the head wizardry.
Sidebottom obviously deserves all the praise he's getting, as is he is in arguably career best form. But Embleberry is still bloody handy

He was on fire from when JDG and Titch went down until he injured his bicep and then didn't look fit afterwards - that injury was the tipping point that ****ed our season. Not surprisingly, he can't play through injury like he used to.much improved on last year where he had a couple of great games but other times looked ancient (the late Hawthorn game , Geelong game , second Sydney game)
I do miss his kicking onto the chests of our leading forwards thoughHe has reinvented his game majorly this season. His kick % (kicks as a % of his total disposals) is 33%. You’re gunna be missing a hell of a lot more than that eventually. Just enjoy the fact his change of game style is working. He looked pretty busted up at times last year and was caught many times htb. Not sure he’s been pinged once this year because he’s reverted to the quick handball.I do miss his kicking onto the chests of our leading forwards though
Oh yeah, me too. He was always the absolute best at kicking it perfectly to Cox's advantage, where he could lead at the footy unimpeded and reach it above the defenders.I do miss his kicking onto the chests of our leading forwards though
big basketball background they say can play a variety of positions forward , inside mid , winger maybe half back the basketball they say helps with his spacial awarenessTempted to call him a champion, but I don’t want to go too early, might see how his next 100 games go before making that call.
well at the time he was 36 though of course a little injury was going to affect him considering his ageHe was on fire from when JDG and Titch went down until he injured his bicep and then didn't look fit afterwards - that injury was the tipping point that ****ed our season. Not surprisingly, he can't play through injury like he used to.
Once he gets to 500 games, we'll have a better idea of where we sit.Tempted to call him a champion, but I don’t want to go too early, might see how his next 100 games go before making that call.

Steele Sidebottom will also be third outright at 14 Anzac Day games.Scott Pendlebury will equal Dustin Fletcher for most ANZAC Day games tomorrow with 18.
Just think, if it wasn’t for Covid he’d go past Dustin Fletcher this year and potentially bring up 20 next year.Steele Sidebottom will also be third outright at 14 Anzac Day games.
