Way to keep your head up:thumbsu:

For most blokes to get 5 goals kicked on you in just over a quarter of football you'd drop your head despite the fact most of them were probably impossible to stop.

But alot of blokes would drop their heads in that situation but Stevo is keeping with Lloyd and gradually getting on top of him:thumbsu:

Stevens has been fine - it's the disorganised stoppages that has gifted Diver Boy his goals.....:thumbsd:

How was when he and Stevo went for the ball in a contest and it spilled loose and Lloyd was too busy looking at the ump for a free then run after the ball?

FFS, go for the ball until the whistle blows

Stevo has been fine and if we can keep Lloyd to under 2 goals in the 2nd half, it will go a long way to winning...

As silly as it is, he's had five kicked on him in the first half, but you're right, he's been pretty good.

If the midfielders can prevent quick ball movement in, and the other backs can help him, he'll go alright.

i hate lloyd. he always throws the grass in the air before he kicks for goal he just looks like an idiot when he does it. does anyone else notics that? but i agree stevens did very well today even though lloyd got 5.

I thought he played really well and NEVER dropped his head :thumbsu:

3 of Lloyd's goals were due to poor turn overs in the midfield. First there was a brain fade by Massie where he played on and got caught that resulted in Lloyd goal. Then there was Perrie's and I think it was Goodwin's missed handballs that resulted in another 2 of his goals.

Stevens can certainly hold his head high after today's effort. Very under-rated player is Stevo :thumbsu:

Yep, good stuff by Stevo.

Only really one of em was his fault.
That's how I saw it too.

Think it was the 1st goal, where he gave Lloyd way too much room.

Apart from that, Stevo was burnt by team mates mistakes & too much space for Lloyd to move into.

agreed. was impressed by his continual refusal to drop his head in the face of the matthew lloyd rule book.

Was pretty good today. A lot of the delivery to Lloyd today was near unstoppable and that was as a result of them murdering us at stoppages. They did it so easuly and so often had a lot of time to hit Lloyd lace out.

Stevens did keep his head up but was also very much helped out by an extra man dropping back into the space every time they kicked it to him after quarter time.

That 'holding the jumper' free was straight from page 1 of the rule book. Ridiculous to think that soft free can get picked up at one end of the ground and other similar incidences are continually overlooked.

Couldn't agree more. Lloyd throwing his arms back like that and looking at the umpire while the ball was still in play was a disgrace. He plays for free kicks for the most part - something I absolutely hate seeing...

Whilst I agree you need to play until the whistle blows and it was pretty ordinary of lloyd in that circumstance there were 3 separate incidents where he did not get free kicks which he should have. Stevens was very good all day on him, just the delivery for once was good in the first quarter

And what about the soft as butter free kicks he did get?

Oh thats right, you forgot to mention them

Stevens has been good both forward and back all year IMO

He is a key part of our team, and hope he continues to play well.

He did very well on Lloyd considereing the delivery.

I'm starting to wonder whether it was Steven's good performance which ended up quietening Lloyd, or whether it was Neil Craig moving an extra man into defense (Mattner) to drop in front of Lloyd and block delivery to him... Either way it didn't work, as McVeigh stepped up to the plate. I still think Steven's did well in the second half though :thumbsu:
