At the beginning of the year, most people had Scotty-too-Hotty outside the 22. After an injury ravaged 2006, with only 5 games early games, most believed that others had moved way ahead of him - Johnson, Mundy, Dodd.

Then when he was a last minute inclusion a few weeks back, many were very surprised - me included. Most thought he wasn't ready, and even if he was many believed he was no longer in the 22 - just a depth player.

But how good has he been - and hasn't he improved with each run he's had?! He is firmly in our 22 now IMO, and congrats to him for getting his body right again, and getting himself back out on the paddock playing in the purple!

We've missed you Scotty!

Had Thornton as best 22 in a side i posted on another site on the 10th of May before he had played a game this season. Very underrated, one of the players that gives us the most run out of defense i believe. Also looked handy up forward surprisingly.

I like him in the role he is currently playing. A better defender and a better mark than Cook and Webster. We have very few players who can play both ends of the ground so Scottie definately adds to our flexibility.

I think his contribution to our gamestyle is very underrated. He gives us great dash out of defence and really aids the team in playing the hard running rebound style game that made us look so good last season.

Early in the year we looked really stagnant coming out of defence with only Hayden prepared to run and create. But now with Thornton and Black back we are looking a lot better at taking the game on and running the ball from our backline.
