ATM my kid has the flu and wanted to watch something so I said try the box sets of 'Scrubs' that I own.

Watched S01 and half way through S02 and I must admit has stood the test of time.

Thoughts..?

Ps. Yes we know it ended in tears with the last season.

dizzying highs, terrifying lows

when they stay silly it's a laugh riot, but if you hear any music in a minor key - take cover! You're about to cringe so hard, your skull will escape your brow!

Pretty much this. Show still holds up today, we rewatch it quite often. Was the first show my wife and I bonded over too back when we were just lovebirds fresh out of high school. So many quotable lines too.

We NEVER mention that season.It never ever happened.

Great show.Still often watch it each night at 6pm on Comedy Channel.

Oddily for a comedy show some of the best eps were the saddest eps ;
My Screw Up is possibly the best ep.It's where Ben [Brendan Fraser] dies but you don't realise until the very end he was the patient who died halfway thru the ep.
My Lunch is the ep where the annoying patient Jill Tracy dies and Dr Cox uses her organs to help 3 others,later discovering she died of rabies.
and the 2 part eps where Nurse Roberts was killed off

I've watched the entire show probably 5 times now but have never ventured into the last season.

Honestly, this show has the best season finale of any show, and it just wraps it up so beautifully and perfectly I just accept that it's over from that point.

So, I have no clue how bad the last season is, I just respect that last moment so much I don't even bother with the last season.

Scrubs is an awesome show and one of the few that is re-watchable time after time. One of my all time faves.

Are you refering to the ep where J.D leaves and they bring back all the old characters from the show,some of who are dead ?

Anyone who hasn't watched Season 9 is missing out. Scrubs 1-8 was amazing, and 9 was nothing compared to them, but it's still good in its own right. On its own it would stand up against a lot of other shows. And Dave Franco is brilliant.

Yep. And when he walks out of the front sliding doors, he looks into a screen that's playing his future with Elliott and how they have a family together etc.

My Lunch is top shelf TV. Brilliant episode. One of my favourite emotional episodes is My Last Words from S8, the one where JD and Turk blow off steak night to spend the night with a dying patient. Such a well written and acted episode.

I think that the last season could have worked if it was introduced as a spin off rather than a continuation of Scrubs.

As for the show overall, it was the first show I ever really got into. It was so easy to connect with all the characters and I always appreciated the humour. The fact I can watch reruns now and still love it, definitely makes it my most loved show.

How about favourite characters? Kelso was an awesome character from about season 4-8. They transformed him from angry old boss into someone quite funny.

Bill Lawrence wanted that to happen, he wanted it to be a spin off called Scrubs: Interns or Med School (can't remember which). It was ABC who made them just call it Scrubs. Which is funny because in the end, pretending it was the same show probably had a big hand in making sure it didn't succeed.

Yep, would have made so much sense the other way. Annoyed me that it only went 12 eps or whatever and then just randomly stopped.

It actually does have a different name.At the start of each ep in the opening credits it has something like Scrubs : Medical School [or whatever it is]

Yeah that's right. They didn't really sell it that way though. It was just made out to be season 9 which meant it was doomed from the start really.

Such a good show. It's not one that I've sat down and watched from start to finish but it's definitely one that I watch whenever I can catch an episode. I accidentally watched a few of the last season and I didn't get it at all, though.

Agree good enough for me to watch if someone is randomly watching it although I won't seek it out myself.

I find the 'villains' (janitor, Kelso) and Dr Cox are by far the best characters whilst JD, Elliot and Turk are mostly annoying.
