The draft order has been set - randomly with the help of Presti.

(He sent me a list of random numbers from 1 to 10 - what he didn't know what that I then applied this directly to the final team list posted today on Waspys thread - Presti's numbers were 5-2-6-8-10-1-3-7-9-4)

**ORDER**
1. RooDog
2. Presti
3. Stazza
4. thompson
5. Gaz
6. Waspy
7. Longy13
8. Russian
9. dkregor
10. Inferno

IMPORTANT NOTES - Please Read

* The draft order will reverse every round - it'll work it'w way down the list above in the first round then up the list in the second, down the list in the third and so on.
So Inferno has first pick in rounds 2,4,6,8,10 - (he'll pick two throughout the draft - as will RooDog after his first pick)

* We will be drafting 40 players each.

* You can pick any player from any AFL team - every AFL player as of today is in the draft pool - but once a player is taken then they obviously can not be drafted.

* Players taken in yesterday's National Draft (eg Cooney, Walker) are available just like any other player - as are Rawlings and Stevens.

* You will be drafting players for your permanent squad for many seasons to come - in other words the player you draft will be on your team until he retires (or is traded) - so you may want to factor in the age of a player into how valuable he is.

* when drafting remember that each player is right now locked into a single position and that each round of the season you can only name players of specific positions.

* For key rules and the player list noting the player positions please go to the new post on the games board.

DRAFT PICK TIMEFRAMES

Coaches will be given some leeway in regards to time to make their pick - we have a couple of months - but at the same time it's important that the whole league isn't waiting 4 days for a coach to take their pick.

I don't want to set an absolute limit as **** happens and we all have lives. If something happens and you'll be out of contact for a few days feel free to let me know (skregor@hotmail.com). You can even supply me a list of players you might want in your absence and I will pick for you.

POSTING YOUR PICK

Please post your pick in the following format - this will assist the commish as well as all coaches in knowing who has gone and who is up next.

Phantom Coach drafts with pick 0 forward Gary Ablett from Geelong.

Next on the clock is RooDog

We can draft players like Stevens/Rawlings, who are playing AFL, but have no contract to a team? (Rawlings has I believe).
So what about some players going into the PSD too, can we draft them on the assumption they will get picked up, or is there going to be a PSD, and if so, shouldn't Rawlings & Stevens be in the PSD and not the draft that is taking place now?

Please post questions in the Rules post so this can be just for the draft.

To answer the question there will be no Pre-Season draft this season - as all players are being drafted. Take whoever you want.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Stazza with Pick 3 takes Chris Tarrant (COL).

Next Up is thompson

Pick 7 - Lenny Hayes (Saints)

--------------------------------

This game seems a little strange. Who will be calculating the points and why do you say this will be permanent for many years to come. How long exactly is this running for?

Longy13 - it is a head to head fantasy comp - I will calc scores each week using software I have - and post the weekly results.

There will be a 2004 winner then each team will retain there squads into the following season - bolstered by a trade period and the two drafts similar to the AFL.

It would be my hope that in 5 years time this league would still be going.

Obviously it makes this draft important as there would be no point stocking up on aged players in the last year or two of their careers - at least with early picks that is.

Next up dkregor - then inferno twice then back to dkregor
