Article in the herald sun today saying that Seaby wants out of W.C and is looking to become the number 1 ruckman at another club... only 25, can play forward. worth looking at? I think so...

Depends what we would have to give, perhaps a straight swap for a player?

Bartram, Bell or Wheatley? All three?

Id be willing to give up any of those players a little bit hesitant on Bartram as he is relatively young.. but id still probably give up the other 2.

It depends if you think Jamar and Meesen are better than Seaby, and you have some faith in Spencer. Not to mention PJ.

Worth looking at if we decide he is our man, otherwise we move on. Certainly not worth giving up much.

I dont believe he is that much of an upgrade from Spencer, Meesen, Johnson and Jamar.

Not worth looking at

Oh my God!

You of all people MB.

Cut PJ and I am not sold on Meesen yet and it may be harsh because he is very raw but Spencer just looks to have spaghetti arms and not much else.

Really wouldn't mind a Seaby/Jamar combination in the future.

Mees showed plenty when he finally came on the park. Not sold on Spencer though, very raw. Jamar been in fine form. PJ incosistent. SME is KP who can pinch hit.

Ideally i would like a Mees and Jamar combination, with PJ in waiting. I don't really see Seaby as any improvement on anyone so i think it would be a complete waste.

Jamar is superior to Seaby, Meesen needs some more time to develop, but he will probably be better than Seaby too. As such, there is no requirement to go after him.

@ Dez, I agree, Spencer looks to be no more than another rookie listing gone wrong. I hope I'm incorrect, but I'm just not seeing him as a consistent AFL player.

Good call Cannons - Jamar's been great this season when he's not been injured, and I've said that a lot before now. Meesen was good value before his LTI as well.

We definitely don't need Seaby at all as far as I'm concerned...

People do realise that it was only a couple of games that Meesen played right? He was good in those games but we've been fooled by illusions before.

I would rather live in a fantasy world where Mees is a decent player then a real world which we had Ryan Fergurson on our list.

Could be a little early to make that sort of a call on Spencer. He is only 19 and as a ruckmen who hasn't been playing Aussie Rules until only recently i think he has done an alright job. We will find out about him when he reaches 23.

No way do we want this hack on our list. The Eagles would prefer to play Lynch in the ruck in front of him. I would be looking at a player more like Max Bailey from the Hawks. He has had a lot of injury problems but when i have seen him play he looks very good. He is back from injury now as well, so if he can get through the rest of the season we could have a go at him.

Are you talking about Spencer now?
No I was talking about the Meese, didn't he play some VFL 2's last year? Anyway I really hope he can be a good player, hopefully better than both Jamar and Seaby. Because I believe the rest of our team will be right to go in 3 years time and if the only reason we can't win finals games is because we're short a ruckman I'd be very disappointed.

Seaby, please no. I'd rather at least try and develop our own first.

Brisbane have Mitch Clarke, Leunberger and Charman. If Leunberger reaches his potential the Lions could have 3 ruckman capable of being a number 1 ruckman. It only takes time before one becomes disgruntled.

Move early with a decent pick on Berger? Or can Brisbane keep all three happy?

No. Wouldn't even take Seaby for free.

The 3 Brissie ruckmen will be hard to budge. Leung will be too tough to get, Mitch Clarke can play forward and be a very good ruck 2.

Charman's body is shot.

We've got to develop our own here. Jamar is competitive. PJ is useless. Meesen needs to get pyhsically stronger. Spencer still green.

Jamar, Meesen, Spencer plus draft another beanstalk.
Martin can pinch hit.

I believe Seaby can offer more than Johnson and Meesen... Spencer is still young so keep developing him. We could have 2 mediocre ruckmen instead of a mediocre ruckmen and a bad one (Johnson, Meesen). Remember he did win B.O.G in a winning G.F team (cant be that bad)

Wasn't that Andrew Embley?

Are you talking about replacing Johnson or Meesen?

I'd suggest that Seaby isn't really good enough to be someone we should go after in a trade involving Johnson even, but if you're suggesting we should actually trade Meesen for him...?? Come on, that's crazy...
