I went to watch the players train today. It was a very light training session. The Irish lad trained with Alan Richardson, he looked all right.

Rusling looked decisively sharp and quick. It was interesting to see him out on the training track because you habitually don't see players outside the 25 man squad train with the rest of the group the day before a game.

You'll get a hefty fine, but I reckon Rusling is half a chance.

radio

out leon

in ruzza

shame that leon misses as he has been good this year

but good to be able to watch ruzza, hopefully he can do enough to hold his place and continually improve until the finals roll around

thnx CT

He is meant to be 184cm so average height for a midfielder, what do u mean he has nice skills? don't tell me he has learnt to kick , mark , handball and bounce already?

Geez, he's a talent. A natural at the stab pass IMO, he would have made Jock McHale proud.
I didn't see him do any handballs or bounces. Generally kicking.

Jeez...he can kick! That'd put our recruiters off a bit. ;)

I reckon that's the only pre-requisite, alongside a capacity to handle serious physicallity. Gaelic footy's physical side is nigh on non-existent. It's more like the movie Baseketball in that you have to harrasss your opponent into a skill error, rather than tackle.

From what I can gather, this kid's the best in Eire. He must have great smarts, ball winning capability and good to elite athletic capacity. But Alex McDonald had these attributes ticked when he was drafted #1, and he was as weak as ****!

Hopefully he has some pent up mongrel, and hopefully he's lapping up the life of a professional footballer. I'd take living in Aus for a while, over playing footy on weekends and farming spuds on weekdays for Guiness money!
