well this year, we saw that really, there were some holes in the set up of the team.... especially when ingo retired. So where do u think the recruiting dept of the MFC need to look at for season 2002?

i think that we need 1 of the following

a key defender - a CHB player would be ideal, OR a key forward.

this will all depend on where ND and co decide to play Neita. if they see him soley as a forward they need to look at getting a quality backman, and vice versa. if they see him as a backman they need a key forward. they cannot kepp switching the poor guy around cos it does nothing for his confidence.

also i think that a midfielder might not go astray, especially if Powell isnt fit for next season (there is still a brief sense of doubt)

so yeah. what do u guys think?

I think we need to go all out and try to get Barry Hall.

Can you imagine how intimidating Schwarz, Hall, Farmer, Robertson, Green and maybe Nietz would be in that forward line?

Theyd be virtually unstoppable.

I think our midfield is pretty sound. Woey can only improve from this year, same for Rigoni and Leoncelli and we've got a couple of young kids that look ready to step up. Maybe we could do with a tougher sort of midfielder in the mould of a Jason Johnson but if were really in trouble we could always send down Walshy or Whelan (if theyre fit )

If we can't get Barry Hall, then I think we should be looking at a strong CHB. But Hall should be our priority. He'd also improve the teams versatility as he could also be played down back if we really needed him to.

i couldn't agree with you more! thats all really true, but the only thing is... hall and robbo wouldn't play together... if whats going around is true (not just from dees01, even though we now know that was all BS), then they could be traded for eachother. but somehow i doubt that, and that line up would be fantastic!

as for our mid feild - they aren't all that bad. they're out of form (very badly!) but when they are in form, they're amazing, and pretty un stoppable (SP?)! hopefully, they'll all return to the good form they had for the 2nd half of 2000!

I wouldn't mind having Barry Hall on the team but i doubt that will happen coz St.Kilda won't give him up that easily and if they do than we won't have Robbo like dees*gal said and that we need to rely only on Farmer to take marks unless Neita plays up forward.
Our midfield is good, and hopefully Daniel Breese will join us next season and Powell will return from injury (please let him be ok.... he is sensational!).
We really need a CHB, not doubt about that, or like you said someone who can play both like Neita and Hall.

As long as Robbo stays I'm happy (and Chell and Walshy.... coz i saw them on the Saint's shopping list!!!)

I like Pump's idea on Barry Hall...but...

I still think our whole list is not really top quality and thus we should trade and make some hard decisions...something we really have not done that well in the past.

I think Powell won't make a comeback to afl and Rigoni is really not up to it.....should be traded if possible......sorry guys, but I did say we should make some hard decisions

Powell never playin again?? U gotta be on some sorta drugs man, seriously. Take a good hard look at yourself. The guy himself siad recently on the footy show he was doing alot better, and the guy can only improve!!

As for recruiting.......I think we will be alot more successful in getting a key forward rather than a backman, which probs means Neitz has a higher chance of ending down back, as much as some may hate it......

Getting a Hall, Holland or whatever would be good though, and that's where our best chances lie......god damn, I am too tired to write anymore!! Bugger it!

the only reason this MIGHT not come back, is if the osteo-pubis is hereditary. cos he bro took 4 years to get over it. hopefully he will come back tho.

Simple, they need to recruit an entire new team!

Seriously, either a quality forward like Nick Holland so Neitz goes back or a quality backman.

In the midfield, they need someone strong and tough. To Get that they should trade a Leoncelli or Rigoni. Our midfield may be good talent wise, but they are weak and easy to work out.
