So Gus.
Has he promised his brother that he'll come play at West for a
couple of games?

Well Chunky Lover.
Congratulation on a great win on the weekend.Your boys are on fire.

And sorry to see Bloomfield leaving Lara. Such a great player to watch.

Match of the round this week. Grovedale Vs Leopold.

Yeah the Leopold v Grovedale match should be a cracker. I had a good look at Leopold last week against St Marys and it looks like they are the real deal. Their run and carry was good to watch and their midfield looks like it bats deep. Forwards look dangerous with Tom in good nick, and their back six looks solid with Larcombe the general. Grovey at Grovey is always the testing material though!

Such an even comp this year, only 6 points separates 1st and 6th with 4 teams on 28 points and South Barwon not out of it..

You might be in luck this weekend Hotofthepress. It looks like Grovedale's match winner Jarrod Young
just might not be playing after injuring his knee against St Albans on the weekend. That's a massive loss
for them.

What a great game the St Josephs Vs Leopold must of been..
Big games coming up after the break.
Yeah was a great game of quality local footy, Joeys looked a bit cleaner using the footy at times then Leopold but the simple fact is if Leopold kicks straight then they win.

Has Grant Tanner ended Grovedales chances of making the final 5.
After humiliating Erskine in the Addy on Monday.
South Barwon would be loving this.I'm sure the banter will be at an
all time high next week.
Not good.

Hello Hotofthepress.
Your boys would have be favourites for the the flag at the moment
with 5 other teams also paying some good footy.
I'm tipping that Scarlett gets rubbed out before the seasons end.
After watching his antics in his last 2 games.
He just needs to strike the right umpire on the day and he's gone.

I think it will come down to which team has there best available side when the whips are cracking "have eyes" If Joeys and South(if they get in) have there VFL listed players on the park they will be dangerous.

Goodbye South Barwon!! And everyone will be happy with that. It's down to 5 teams now.
Good luck fellas.

Was at the GFL under 16 semi final between St Josephs and Bell Park today. Alot of talk about James Worpel, Sean Holroyd and Alex Witherden playing in this game to be perhaps 2016 draft prospects. Anybody know of any other prospects in the under 16's?

Worpel is an u15 All Australian boy a ripping young talent and key position player that can play at both ends of the ground he is not eligible until 2016 draft. Witherden is another young exciting prospect who played in the u16 national carnival for Vic Country which highlighted his stunning ability to win one on ones and a great user of the ball.
Jack Scarlett for St Josephs u16 is son of former geelong play John Scarlett. St Mary's boy Darby Schilder is also a very talented u16 footballer also representing Victoria Country in this years national carnival, A key defender to watch out for.

Other natural superstars of the competition are St Mary's players Paddy "vic" Killen and Nicky Maish (Legend). St Josephs skipper Jack Quinn is another one to keep a keen eye on aswell is the speedy Jacko (ASAF) McLachlan. Scarlett is an aggressor that suffers from a term his father describes as "white line fever". Finally one to keep your eye on from down on the coast is Tom "where's my goony" king who floats around the field majestically and never to far away from his misso jade davie.

Please...no more under 10's football chat..99% of these kids won't play senior football.Well not for
the club that they are playing at now or at all. It's a long time between now and then.

St Joseph's V's Leopold granny with Joey's winning by a very small margin.
3rd St Marys
4th Colac
5th Newtown

Great year of football with a terrific finals series to come.

Watched both matches as a neutral on the weekend. St Joseph's pressure was incredible on Saturday. They look to be an extremely disciplined side (apart from a yellow card to one of the young forwards) and St Mary's appeared to have no answers. Their SF against Leopold this Saturday should be an exciting contest as both sides play a fast, attacking brand of football.

Colac completely outclassed Newtown on Sunday. Newtown got off to a flyer and went in at quarter time with a handy lead but the wind picked up in the second term and the Tigers took full advantage of it, kicking 8 unanswered goals. Colac's key forwards were actually held quite well I thought, but their onballers were allowed far too much space. It was my first look at Newtown this year and they looked to have too many overpaid egos not willing to get their hands dirty when the game was on the line. You can spend as much money as you like but if you don't have 22 committed blokes willing to do the team thing, you're never gonna go far.

Yes I saw the same games with the same verdict.

Must admit it was quite pleasing to find out Newtown had once again failed to deliver come finals time. Will no doubt go out over the off season again and spend a truck load of coin on ex afl players..

Bit harsh on Newtown, missing 3 important players and losing Dan Feery during the match. However Colac were simply to good and in my opinion favorites for the flag. Although any of the 4 teams could win it

Thats ok they'll just by 10 more better players nxt year, how about doing some hardwork growing the club from within instead of spending truckloads on supposed guns every year to end with the same result not harsh at all

Nah not harsh at all in my opinion. They were in the top 3 basically all year till they lost there nerve at the business end. Same with there 2's. I'm sure most people enjoy seeing them continually fail..
Joeys vs Colac granny for mine. Probably the two most impressive sides I've seen this year.

Doesn't help Newtown players when the club flag they want to cut players pay next year before the last home game.
