After going all in, the Demons would’ve been bitterly disappointed with the result on the weekend, where despite some last minute heroics from the game’s all time greatest goalkicker Tarkyn_24 which saw him kick the final two goals of the game, they ultimately fell just a solitary kick shy of their rivals the Wonders in the Foundation Cup. The loss just their second of the season sees them hold their position, but with just mere percentage separating them from 6th spot.
They host the Gold City Royals at home, who will be coming in off a hot streak looking for their third straight win after turning around a poor start to the season. Having despatched a hapless Gumbies outfit on Sunday, their 33 point win would give them the confidence required to ride their luck into this week’s clash at the Snow Dome against the Mount Buller juggernaut. Skipper The Filth Wizard’s 5 goals sinking the struggling Gumbies, probably just eclipsing rookie sensation Cesoir whose 22 touches and a goal would have once again seen him in the votes after a scintillating start to his career.
The competition’s all time leading goalkicker is back in pole position this season, as he once again spearheads a powerful Mount Buller attack. The Hall of Fame full forward is the number one forward in the game right now, his 22 goals going at 5.5 per game placing him comfortably at #1 in the comp with daylight.
The Filth Wizard – ROYALS
The Royals skipper has made the move to full forward this season after spending the majority of Season 28 in the guts for the Gold City side. Has made the transition seamlessly, and is coming off a bag of 5 goals in their big win against the Gumbies. Could have had another handful on the weekend if not for inaccuracy. He currently sits at #8 in the comp for goals, his 14 majors coming at 3.5 per game.
The Demons Best & Fairest winner is enjoying yet another superb season in the Mount Buller engine room, as the Demons juggernaut continues to dominate the competition in Season 29. Behind only _Cayz_ at the club, her 19.8 disposals place her among the upper echelon of mids in S29, and the midfield tyro has another gear to take in ominous signs for the competition.
GreyCrow – ROYALS
The Royals ruckman is a consistent performer for the Gold City outfit, having spent several seasons now in the ruck. Leading a new look engine room, he currently sits at #8 for hitouts with 11.3 per game, while his around the ground work has stretched oppositions in recent weeks. His 16.5 disposals per game shows his versatility, and he frequently offers his teammates a tall target down the line.
Mr 74%, the former skipper is relishing a new role at the Snow Dome in S29, and it shows. Having taken up a spot on the wing after several seasons down back for the Dees, Yak has been in impressive form, averaging 19.8 disposals per game, and with his experience and nous on display he'll be one to watch on Sunday.
spookism – ROYALS
The former Hawk is enjoying his time at The Golden Throne, having moved across in the S29 pre season. The veteran has shifted into the midfield after playing a variety of roles at the Hawks, and he has so far repaid the faith of the Royals in spades. He's averaging 19.3 disposals per game, coupled with 5.5 marks per game that places him at #16 in the comp, and his outside game is giving the Royals plenty of run and dash to kick off Season 29.
