When I saw my psychologist last week, one of the many topics that were explored was whether I’m the type who has hope or tries not to get my hopes up. Turns out I can be either depending on probabilities /stats. But ultimately she made a great point about how despite what people think about either one approach or another resulting in less disappointment , she said something that is going to hurt regardless and the focus is on controlling the things we can control (which can be anything from doing all you can and having the supports /distractions around). I got some comfort from that

Back to qooty, the /trying to avoid getting your hopes up doesn’t make results like today’s for you any easier. I remember how flat after our GF loss last season (which in itself was our first finals appearance in many seasons) and also our loss a few weeks ago that took our finals fate out of our hands and some of my teammates may well remember what I said too. One of the things that helped was knowing that the part we could control (the posting) had been a positive journey. And I feel that’s the case for you guys with what you are building.
