Strange and rather trivial question. Sorry for starting a thread about it, but as there isn't a general discussion thread that would be likely to yield an answer...

Is there access between the top tiers of ANZ stadium and the lower ring? i.e. if someone has bought seats in the top section, can they sneak down to the ground level? Or is there no internal stairs/ramp that connects the two levels.

I have some friends going, who normally buy tix anywhere on ground level, and then wander over to sit with me in the unreserved Swans members area (the area around Bay 119). However they couldn't get them on ground level this time and are stuck upstairs. Will they be able to access the lower part of the ground?

Cheers

The answer is no. You have different gates to enter the ground.

Nah, feel free to sit wherever, as long as someone isn't in the seat. Might be alright to wait until quarter or half-time as it takes a while for the stadium to fully fill up. Nobody checks your tix and all the gates are connected into the same tunnel unlike the SCG.

Can't get into the members reserves unless you've picked or bought seats there, but otherwise nobody really gives a damn where you sit as long as you're not taking up their spot.

May be a little hard in the Collingwood and Geelong games as there'd be a lot more people, but in the Essendon and WC games, there was a whole lot of switching around. I have good seats regardless so never felt the need to myself :)

No, you can't travel between the top tiers and the lower part of the Stadium. The only way to go up to the top tiers is to walk on those spiral walks that are situated on the external corners of the Stadium. If you want to meet your friends from the top tier to the bottom or vice versa, you'll have to walk outside of the Stadium in order to walk up those spiral things.

But, if its all on the ground level, like what ssfc0203 said, you can sit wherever you want. It's easy at the ANZ, no security guards check it, unlike the SCG!

I thought you didn't need to? I was sitting in the top tiers for last years' game and I got down pretty easily.

Probably I'm thinking about the really high ones at the very top of the Stadium? Which top tiers are you talking about Adam?

Are those spirals walks external?

Anyways, ANZ is great how you can just walk all the way around. SCG is quite annoying in that regard.

You get the best available seats, but I'm not too sure whether they block release or trickle release. Might be worth it calling them up and asking them directly over the phone.

Yep, they are all connected on the ground level, I was trying to work out whether you could get down into that area if you have tickets for the very top tier though.

I think that answers it. Ouch! Looks like I'll be sitting on my own.

Yep, the very top tier.

Do ANZ Stadium release more tickets during the week? Because as it stands at the moment, in Silver, you cannot get two seats next to one another.

We bought three Silvers next to each other at about 11 this morning, almost the last block of three remaining. Looks like we could be in for a great crowd.

I don't think the ANZ has any external staircases .. are you thinking of the ones around the carpark?

I'm talking about those.. umm... spiral ones you see on the corners of the ANZ?

Uh, I'll find a picture of it.

You see those cylinder like thingys on the four corners of the Stadium? I forgot how you get into those spiral thingys...

Lmao, I have no idea. I just go through my gate :p

Hope its a huge crowd. If they're only selling singles now, it probably is going to be.

I just bought a block of 6, although after that you could not even get two next to each other. There can't be many seats left. You cannot get anymore than 2-3 together in the whole stadium, and they are exhausted pretty quickly.

I was playing around, and I grab a 4 seat lot, and a 6 seat lot. Then I searched the rest of the stadium and could not get anything over 2 seats.

So with news like that i would expect atleast 60,000 people at the game.

Instructions: ( if on Eastern side)

1. Buy or borrow some cancer sticks!
2. Get friends to go out to smoking area in spiral staircase/ramp at qtr time - Dont smoke!!!
3. Run down to bottom area (find smoking zone near gates A B)
4. Light up ****.... (shorten them to pretend you smoked em)
5. Go quickly throwing *** away so attendant can see!... if held up say "We just went out for a quick *** and wife /girlfriend has tickets in her handbag. We're just up from Melbourne never been ANZ before, thought they would have pass outs like MCG???!!!!":thumbsu::D

Will have to case it out for them first to check bay to bay route is accessible;)

'cancer sticks'. BRILLIANT!!!

Let's hope it'll around that mark. We only averaged around 45k at ANZ when we played the Eagles and the Bombers.

The answer is no. You have different gates to enter the ground.

WTF!!! CORSE YOU CAN!
in case you didnt realise, the whole concourse at ANZ is joined...not separated by gates, etc

the only thing thats stopping you from sitting downstairs is the security guards that stand at the top of each aisle to stop people like yourself
but they barely even check your tickets!
pretty much the only place in the ground you cant go if you dont have specidic tickets for it is anything above concourse

dont stress mate

Yeah I know. The issue is whether there is access between the concourse and the top level of the stand.

Thanks for all the replies. Particuarly to Corpuscles for his innovative advice :thumbsu:

Read the OP's question again.

They are internal, have to go through the ticket barriers to get them, then to the ramps which take you up to the upper levels.
Ramps are divided from lower concourse area by a service gate/fence

Thanks.

There's your answer Adam. I guess you've gotta sit by yourself.. :( Unless you do go and 'smoke' a cancer stick.

Actually we had to be escorted around a few years back when we decided to buy our swans memberships we were in the top teirs and I couldnt handle the height being up there so we decided to buy swans memberships to do this a lady had to escort us through locked doors so you cant just get anywhere in ANZ only to certain points.

I am coming up to the Geelong vs Sydney game in August and was wondering what people thoughts are on the best seats at ANZ Stadium.

I usually like going Level 3 near the front at Telstra Dome but how does compare with the Top Level at ANZ stadium. Or am I better trying to get a seat on Level 1 near the back.

Cheers,
Kris
