Hey guys, Just wondering what the go is with seating friday night ? i bought General Admin online, but says I have an allocated seat but also tells me to enter in any gate.. Am i able to sit anywhere or have to sit in that seat ?? Thanks guys

That seat. Corporate stadium is ****ing shit. Lucky we don't play there often.

You know Essendon members have to pay $7 to reserve online for the seats they deserve or wait in a ****ing huge queue on gameday... what a f***hole...

What does the ticket say? If you've bought a gen admin then it will be level 3 and you can sit anywhere with the exception of the reserved areas which are usually in the first 4-5 rows

The ticket says the row and seat number but it says I can enter in any gate, so what sense is that, if I have to walk half way round the ground to find my seat. Surely I can just sit anywhere on the top ??

Im a 17 game member so get into The Dome for free but only as GA. As posted above (and because it has been our Away game this year so far(damn eagles)) I had to sit on level 3....atleast against the saints.

When I showed up for the game against North I had to buy 1 extra ticket for my lady accomplice and asked the Ticket wench if we could sit anywhere else other then level 3. She said yes, limited GA was available on level 1, just right of the goals on um one...end.. Sorry don't know the name.

Sure it was against North and neither of our Grand clubs could pull a crowd that would outnumber that of a Harry Potter book launch so maybe it was an executive decision so someone would appear to be there for those watching at home.

It was still only $20 and no option the following week for level 1 at that cost against the Saints (2 weeks in a row at Etihad :thumbsd::footy::thumbsd::thumbsd:). But it may be worth asking, if you prefer no blind spots like you get on level 3 when the ball is anywhere near your local pocket, because it wasn't advertised anywhere.

See you all there.

I always find it surprising to read how much our fans hate Etihad. Yes I know our record is bad there but it is a million times better than the shithole that is Subi...

I wouldn't know.

I can tell you one thing though, If I get annoyed at the extra 10 minute transit time on the train (stupid city loop and/or train swap at flinders) then I can only guess I'd find atleast one thing wrong with a trip to Subi.

I dislike etihad for a lot more reasons then the loses, but if we turned that around at least I could sleep at night.

It has some blind spots, is hard to get to and from and we normally play horrible football there. The view from your seat, aside from the odd blind spot, is normally fantastic though.

Ah let me see...you sit at the city of the ground staring into the sun for the 2nd half of the game and you pay $50 / seat for the privilege.

And we haven't won here for 9 years.

See...could be worse :(

That and with the time difference it would be like watching the under 6's at 9.30 in the morning =p

.....

Unintentional parable of our skill level at Subi can be found in my previous post.

Would be funny if it weren't so true *sigh*

Anyways Friday will be our chance to end this hoodoo. Hopefully plenty of Dees fans turn up!

Well I am fancy shmancy AFL member so I get L1 wing tickets at Etihad, muhahahaha

It still sucks.

In answer to OPs question (if it hasnt already been answered) I'm pretty sure you just ignore the seat no. thing, and go find a seat on the 3rd level, usually can't be the wing though. 99% sure that's how we did it at the StK game earlier in the year. I found the pocket a fairly good viewing point

Regrettably I've been to more Dee's games at Etihad than the G. Being the only Melbourne supporter in my friendship groups means I have to tag alone to other team's home games which seem to be at Etihad a lot.

I've never had a reserved seat before. Just top level, anywhere you can find. Once we managed to sneak into the second level and score some nice seats.

Why do people complain about Level 3 at Etihad? It's pretty much equivalent to a middle tier seat at the MCG.
Agreed. Wouldn't say it's quite as good as middle-tier at the G (best spot to watch footy anywhere, bar none) but I'm always more than happy to sit up there. It makes for good viewing.

Just a pity we never win there.

And how is it hard to get to apart from the stupid bottle neck walk bridge?? I hate sitting anywhwe but ground level and hate the normal price of Footy can't get me near the ground.
