I get this knowledge from seeing the last 30 seconds before Ten News,but it's sad I still know who they are.

Hey buddy I did this with my ex-wife. Knowing the character names and plot of these shitty shows helps a lot with my job as a teacher at an all-girls school. Was a good way of spending time with the missus doing something we both loved.

She is my 'ex'-wife though so take from that what you will
