GEORGE: (Studying the salt shaker) I'm not taking a civil service test.

FRANK: Look at this, George. (Takes a coin out of his pocket) You ever seen a silver dollar?

GEORGE: Yes, I've seen a silver dollar.

ELAINE: Why don't you want to take a civil service test?

GEORGE: To do what?! Work in a post office? Is that what you want me to do?

FRANK: Would you believe when I was 18, I had a ssssilver dollar collection?

ESTELLE: I don't understand. You get job security - you get a pay check every week..

GEORGE: I'm a college graduate. You want me to be a mailman?

FRANK: (Still looking at his coin) You know, I couldn't bring myself to spend one of these. I got some kind of a-a-a-a-a phobia.

ESTELLE: So what are you gonna do?!

GEORGE: I don't know. I do know that I have some kind of a talent - something to offer. I just don't know what it is yet!

FRANK: I bet that collection would be worth a lot of money today. (does a form of magic trick making the coin disappear as he shows George an empty hand)

GEORGE: (Looks fed up with his parents) Oh my God..

FRANK: I don't like this waiter. (Holds up his hand to get the waiters attention - starts snapping) Look at him.. He sees us.. he doesn't want to come over.

GEORGE: (Needing to get away from his parents, he gets up) I need some air..

ESTELLE: George, where are you going?!

GEORGE: (Walks off) I got a lot of thinking to do

What do people think of the last two seasons?

There's so much in those two seasons that Larry David would never have allowed.

If I was showing someone Seinfeld for the first time, it wouldn't be an episode from season 8 or 9. Not that it isn't funny, but I think it lost some of its uniqueness. The jokes were cheaper.

It definitely got a lot more slap stick (for lack of a better word) in the last two seasons

I grew up on seasons 8 and 9, I hold them dear. Few better episodes than 'The Merv Griffin Show'.

There's a notable difference in the show after Larry David left, it was still good but not brilliant like it was when Larry was writing it.

My thoughts exactly. I remember Larry David saying there were a few times he had to pull Jerry up a few times for getting a bit carried away at times, without him there was nobody else to do that. They were still good seasons but not season 1-7 good.

3 weeks ago I watched 'the opposite' and for some bizarre reason I thought to myself, bugger it, i'll give this a try. Fast forward to now and I know you probably won't believe this but i feel like a completely different person, instead of playing xbox for an hour i'll pick up a footy or go for a run, instead of shirking mates and uni work, i do it.

I don't know what this says about me as a person to begin with, but kudos Seinfeld, you've somehow genuinely changed my life...

Less focus on the conversation, more on the overall plot of each show. Still incredibly funny.

In the last two seasons they took the piss a bit as well. In one scene they're all sitting at a counter instead of the booth, and it just doesn't work for a TV show, kinda taking the piss on this kind of set up that's been used over decades in sitcoms…

That sorta stuff just cracks me up...

JERRY: What is it?



NEWMAN: Something's happened with the Soup Nazi!



JERRY: Wha - wha - what's the matter?



NEWMAN: Elaine's down there causing all kinds of commotion. Somehow she got



a hold of his recipes and she says she's gonna drive him out of business!



The Soup Nazi said that now that his recipes are out, he's not



gonna make anymore soup! He's moving out of the country, moving to Argentina! No

more soup, Jerry! No more soup for any of us!



JERRY: Well, where are you going?



NEWMAN: He's giving away what's left! I gotta go home and get a big pot!
