With all the talks of who should be in and out of the team each week I was just wondering where everyone had each player to be selected each week heres my selection order and reasons for each.
1. Matthew Lloyd - '06 proved he's the most important player to our team wether in form or not he's the key to our setup.
2. Scott Lucas - '06 club champion and a key player in all 3 wins this year. His first half against the blues setup the lead and his MIA in the 2nd half attributed to the loss.
3. James Hird - Greatest player for the club and possibly the league in the modern era, whilst not up to his best his presence alone adds an aura and he'd definately be one of the first players opposition coaches look at.
4. Dustin Fletcher - Still the general down back and in impressive form to date this year.
5. David Hille - Have to have a ruck in and he's head and shoulders above our other options.
6. Adam McPhee - Back in career best form and his rebound out of defense is invaluable.
7. Alwyn Davey - Adds that extra element to the team with his tackling and run, his ability to finish around goal or create others make him one of the best small forwards going round atm.
8. Marc McVeigh - In great form this year and his versatility to shutdown opposing forwards, move forward himself or run in the middle makes him the perfect small utility to compliment McPhee as our tall utility.
9. Brent Stanton - Probably our best midfielder this year, getting alot of it and usually doing something with it when he gets it. Has a big motor and uses it well.
10. Angus Monfries - This kid is a potential future captain. He hasnt been used properly this year IMO yet has still performed outstandingly on each occassion.
11. Andrew Lovett - Has been in solid form in his new role further afield this year, provides elements similar to Davey when forward and is able to use the ball well.
12. Damien Peverill - after being in the wilderness last year early injuries have allowed him another chance which he's taken with both arms and ran with. Haven't seen him play this well since his first year in the comp.
13. Paddy Ryder - Re-invented himself down back this year after a subpar debut season and is now one of the most exciting youngsters in the comp.
14. Jason Winderlich - Added more pace and ball-winning abilty to the midfield this year.
15. Andrew Welsh - Great down back and has shown the ability to go forward if need be.
16. Jason Johnson - Been great for a while and despite a dissapointing run of form in '06 deserves his chance if fit.
17. Nathan Lovett-Murray - Grew into a great rebounding defender last year and his presence down back combined with Ryder will allow McPhee to continue his attacking role.
18. Mal Michael - Despite being in poor form this yuear his reputation gets him the last spot on the field plus his ability to take the #1 forward frees Fletcher to setup play from down back.
19. Jobe Watson - Despite being under heavy criticism recently Watson has great natural ability and earns each possie with his hardball gets.
20. Jason Laycock - Able to provide Hille with solid ruck relief and is rather handy forward if Llooyd or Lucas are struggling.
21. Henry Slattery - Handy defender capable of taking run with roles and is still developing.
22. Bachar Houli - Last spot was a difficult selection and although he's yet to play a game he nudges the others with his youthful dash and ballwinning abilities. Has the size to handle AFL already where Jetta is still a bit small for someone so young.
23. Courtney Johns - Is showing signs of the promise he has but the 4 talls in the forward line isn't working. An instant quick fix for Lloyd or Lucas.
24. Scott Camporeale - Age is against him but he is a class act and could make an impact if we lost another steady head in the middle.
25. Leroy jetta - Although I don't think he's mature enough mentally or physically the positives for playing him early far outweigh the negatives and he's about the only guy on the list capable of replacing Davey's pace and tackling ability.
