With all the talks of who should be in and out of the team each week I was just wondering where everyone had each player to be selected each week heres my selection order and reasons for each.

1. Matthew Lloyd - '06 proved he's the most important player to our team wether in form or not he's the key to our setup.

2. Scott Lucas - '06 club champion and a key player in all 3 wins this year. His first half against the blues setup the lead and his MIA in the 2nd half attributed to the loss.

3. James Hird - Greatest player for the club and possibly the league in the modern era, whilst not up to his best his presence alone adds an aura and he'd definately be one of the first players opposition coaches look at.

4. Dustin Fletcher - Still the general down back and in impressive form to date this year.

5. David Hille - Have to have a ruck in and he's head and shoulders above our other options.

6. Adam McPhee - Back in career best form and his rebound out of defense is invaluable.

7. Alwyn Davey - Adds that extra element to the team with his tackling and run, his ability to finish around goal or create others make him one of the best small forwards going round atm.

8. Marc McVeigh - In great form this year and his versatility to shutdown opposing forwards, move forward himself or run in the middle makes him the perfect small utility to compliment McPhee as our tall utility.

9. Brent Stanton - Probably our best midfielder this year, getting alot of it and usually doing something with it when he gets it. Has a big motor and uses it well.

10. Angus Monfries - This kid is a potential future captain. He hasnt been used properly this year IMO yet has still performed outstandingly on each occassion.

11. Andrew Lovett - Has been in solid form in his new role further afield this year, provides elements similar to Davey when forward and is able to use the ball well.

12. Damien Peverill - after being in the wilderness last year early injuries have allowed him another chance which he's taken with both arms and ran with. Haven't seen him play this well since his first year in the comp.

13. Paddy Ryder - Re-invented himself down back this year after a subpar debut season and is now one of the most exciting youngsters in the comp.

14. Jason Winderlich - Added more pace and ball-winning abilty to the midfield this year.

15. Andrew Welsh - Great down back and has shown the ability to go forward if need be.

16. Jason Johnson - Been great for a while and despite a dissapointing run of form in '06 deserves his chance if fit.

17. Nathan Lovett-Murray - Grew into a great rebounding defender last year and his presence down back combined with Ryder will allow McPhee to continue his attacking role.

18. Mal Michael - Despite being in poor form this yuear his reputation gets him the last spot on the field plus his ability to take the #1 forward frees Fletcher to setup play from down back.

19. Jobe Watson - Despite being under heavy criticism recently Watson has great natural ability and earns each possie with his hardball gets.

20. Jason Laycock - Able to provide Hille with solid ruck relief and is rather handy forward if Llooyd or Lucas are struggling.

21. Henry Slattery - Handy defender capable of taking run with roles and is still developing.

22. Bachar Houli - Last spot was a difficult selection and although he's yet to play a game he nudges the others with his youthful dash and ballwinning abilities. Has the size to handle AFL already where Jetta is still a bit small for someone so young.

23. Courtney Johns - Is showing signs of the promise he has but the 4 talls in the forward line isn't working. An instant quick fix for Lloyd or Lucas.

24. Scott Camporeale - Age is against him but he is a class act and could make an impact if we lost another steady head in the middle.

25. Leroy jetta - Although I don't think he's mature enough mentally or physically the positives for playing him early far outweigh the negatives and he's about the only guy on the list capable of replacing Davey's pace and tackling ability.

where does hislop and gumby fit in? I would have thought that hislop would be ahead of houli.

I rate Houli very highly and am still baffled why he hasn't been given a chance, Gumbleton I see currently as our 4th tall forward behind Johns and developing him in the 2's won't hurt him at all hence why he was left out.

going on form this year, i would prob push winders up to 7, ryder up to 8 and stanton at 9. i would have jetta ahead of Campo. I dont think campo has anything positive to offer us at this point.

Wheres Mark Johnson?? He is definately ahead of Campo, Houli, Jetta, Johns et al

Lovett is about the only guy i would consider moving down the order for Ryder and Winders. Everyone else above them I feel deserves to be. Peverill on re-assessment is probably ahead of Lovett. Davey and mcVeigh are definitely ahead of Ryder and Winders and Monfries has been great without being properly used by Sheedy so when he gets his chances upfield he will prove his spot.

From what i've seen of MJ this year he is lost and definitely not in our top 25 if you go on merit. He appears to be struggling with form and perhaps even our new gamestyle.

Agree with your comments on MJ, I expected him to be dropped after Round 1, and continue to each week. My changes for this week (injuries permitting):

Bradley out for Hille (disgusting)
Watson out for J.Johnson (looked terrible, but great player who will find form with Bendigo)
Slattery out for Welsh (just not doing enough)
Dyson out for Winderlich (just not doing enough)
Bolton out for Lovett-Murray (why is he still on our list?)
M.Johnson out for Houli, Hislop or Lonergan (whoever plays best this weekend) or Rama (in a few weeks)!?

i dont understand how you can have a poor form MJ out of selection, but an old underdone kick chaser like Campo, who isnt even in contention to get a game at the moment, in this top 25?

Rama is a rookie. wont be in unless someone seriously gets injured. still underdone by a long way

Campo is in to replace an injury to a senior mid like JJ or Hirdy, he offers onfield leadership, has decent disposal and hasn't really gotten a serious chance on our list mainly to him battling injuries. MJ has been given the chance and continues to fail.

Not suggesting he play yet, but possibly soon if he pulls up alright each week. Neagle could be deemed long-term injury list, or someone else may get injured by the time Rama is ready.

The highlited ones are in the wrong spot. McVeigh would be up a couple of spots, Davey is way too high. There is no way he would be selected ahead of McVeigh after just 5 games. Winderlich should be a few spots higher after his form so far. Welsh would be a top 10 pick, easily. Jobe at 19, are you kidding?!?! Sure his kicking might not be great, but he would be ahead of JJ and Lovett IMO (Lovett is too high). Yes Houli does have the body for AFL football, but he doesnt have the brain quite yet. If you have seen him play at Bendigo, you would have seen he is still very indecisive. ATM, Campo is probably in the right spot, but if he hits form, he will go up. Where the hell is Heffernan? I really hope you just forgot him. He is our most composed midfielder. He is good in the clinches and delivers the ball well. He is a good tagger to boot. He might not gert alot of touches, but that isnt his job.

I picked the first 5 on the fact they will play if fit regardless of form due to what they offer out of form compared to others, I think their order pretty much sums up their importance to the team.

McPhee and McVeigh have had sensational starts to the season and are so high for that reason. davey was placed so high given that his impact has either helped us win or be competitive in all bar the Crows game and his 1%ers and tackles are whats helping the other guys look so good.

Jobe and JJ are behind Lovett as I feel Lovett has been in better form than either this year, and with the arrival of Winderlich as a solid midfielder and Peverill's return to form Jobe has slid out of our top 5 midfielders.

Call me insane but I feel Houli is going to be the next big thing at bomber land and although I havent seen his VFL performances he was quite impressive in the NAB games.

Campo is next in line for a crack in the middle given the class he has and I agree he would shoot up the order pretty quick with his quality disposals in our short kick-kick game.

Heffernan would probably be 26 on the list, agree with everything you have said about him but have Hird, McVeigh, Stanton, Peverill, Winderlich, JJ, Jobe and Campo all above him. Add to that Slats ability to tag as well as hold down a defensive role and theres just not room for him in our 25.
