Well it seems we dont have any players returning from injuries this. The only possibilities of coming into the side I guess are Walker, McKernen, Griffin, Young and Armstrong.

Would love to see Walker come in for Burton. Although I reckon this will only happen if Burton is out with an injury.

The other main possibility would be McKernen or Griffin come in as 2nd ruck allowing Tippett to play permanent forward against a hapless Richmond defense. However a tall would surely have to come out of the side. Better not be Davis. I cant see them dropping Stevens. To be honest I cant see them dropping Burton either if not injured. They probably want as many senior players out there as possible. So I think they'll continue with Tippett as 2nd ruck. Hopefully Walker comes in for Burton and can play FF when Tippett is rucking.

IMO cannot play Maric and Griffin in the same team. It is one or the other. The game is too fast to have two big slow guys in the 22, limiting rotations and offering no flexibility in other positions. Maric >>> Griffin at the moment. Sorry Griff but you've had so many chances to be number 1 ruck and you blew it everytime. Sometimes we persist too long with soft non competitive footballers (eg Jericho).

It seems Tippett will probably play Forward/ruck until Sellar is available. Of course when that happens its gonna make it even harder for Walker to get in the side, because he'd be behind 3 other permanet forwards Tippett, Burton and Stevens. Walker is a real chance of missing the next 10+ games unless there is an injury to one of these guys or if Davis' form drops and Stevens has to go back.

The positive note this week is that Jaensch gets another crack. I would really love him to play so well that he cant possibly be dropped when Mackay, Danger and Knights return. Then other guys will have to get dropped instead.

Please make one change this week;
Walker in, Burton out.

ps I was all for Burton staying on this year but as the icing in the cake. Certainly didnt want him to stay if he was gonna keep Walker out of the team.

What I'd like to see is:
OUT: Burton
IN: Walker

What I'm expecting to see is:
No change

Richmond don't have any ruckmen worthy of the name, so I think Maric will be asked to fly solo again. That rules out Griffin & McKernan's selection.

Armstrong hasn't really put forward a solid case for selection. Young has, but with Rutten, Bock & Stevens all available and Davis performing well there really isn't a vacancy for him this week.

That leaves Walker - and Burton. Enough electrons have been used up in this debate already.

I would like to see Smack in for Burton, Smack can help in ruck when Maric needs a rest and camp out in the forward line when not in ruck. (and on current form he will offer the same if not more than Burton up forward)

After Tippet kicked his second goal last weekend he went and contested the centre square bounce. He is not going to get his confidence back up forward playing him in the ruck. This is the only reason I would bring in Smack before Tex.

Burton and Vince may be out inj. Vince please no .
Burton yes yes yes sorry you cant play PLEASE PLEASE.
Bring Walker in get Jaensch up forward and Petrenko down back if stays in .
Surely must be close to dropping Doughty -- Surely and as previous posted if Young cant get a game under current situation cant see why coaches would keep him on past this year although I think he is ok and should come back in this week .
I cant believe Petrenko seems to be flying under the rader with coaches and majority of posters as apart from energy has offered nothing although in wrong spot.
Also good game to give McKernan a run as 2nd ruck though hope not before Walker which could happen with Craigys thoughts on Walker.

Have to say it again Please dont play Burton you have a reason now not to and he will still like you Craigy

Petrenko had a better game vs the Power, did some nice things but went in and out of the game. What I'd like to see is Cook in Petrenko's position as he is better overhead and has more instincts as a forward. Petrenko where Jaensch was playing as he's a natural defender. And Jaensch in Cook's position on the wing and in the midfield as we can use his long right foot to break open the zone.

Then Burton out for Walker, play Walker deep FF and have Tippett play at about the 30-40m mark leading out for kicks off the HBF then to deliver either a long quick kick into Walker or handball off to a longer more reliable kicker.

None of this will happen but I can only hope.

This I like :thumbsu:

IN - Walker, Young, SMACK

Out - Birdman, Doughty, Petrenko

SMACK to play as the back up ruckman

FWIW, Griffin has been named for Centrals, so it looks unlikely he'll play for us on Sunday

Well, no forced outs this week :)

Looks like no-one coming back, either.:(

Available ins are the untried Gunston and Talia, perennial failure Griffin,
one gamers Armstrong and Young, and McKernan, and the out of favour Walker.

Unless Walker manages to get back in, or Craig manages to find selection table scapegoats, there is no case for change.
