if you on holidays on your own your need to stay in a hostel - even if you're not up for the dorm accommodation, you can stay in a private room and you'll still have the opportunity to meet people.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying, but I am pretty much passed the whole hostel scene now. Realised this when I was in Perth a few years back- after my first night, checked out then went up the road to a hotel.

Could've asked one of us to go with you.
