Setanta is fine. Scotty faces the Axe

def drop JR. has done nothin. scotland and gibbs could do with a run in the 2s. as much as scotland gets the balls, he really doesnt do a lot with it. doesnt help us out if he gets 30 touches and does nothin with those touches....fish is a great option for us. can play tall and take a solid mark. can also play up the field if need be. plus the guy is still hurt. give JR the arse and get hartlett back on the pitch.

Surely not a spot for Carlos in the backline.
I think Rocca's too tall for Jammo. Rocca is one of the best contested overhead marks in the game. You'll need height to combat that.

Jammo can pick up Medhurst. He'd do well too.

at first i thought no way. but last year, i think on debut, jammo did well on motlop. could do the same against a medium size forward like medhurst. he has enough pace and could out mark him easily.

so for me

medhurst - jammo
cloke - waite
rocca - setanta
resting ruck/loose - thornton
davis/didak - hopefully army but likely scotty or houla maybe carrazzo

thomas - banno? if not who does banno goto?

I think Carrazzo needs a kick up the bum and have a run in the 2s.Also Gibbs needs to play midfield.Houlihan HFF.Anderson to play on Medhurst.Hartlett in.And lets cut the crap and piss Russell off to the 2s or even better the 3s

Pretty sure Jammo played on Medhurst last year and destroyed him?

Glad some people are finally realising Scotland isn't as good as he's made out to be. Has been shocking so far this year - his attempted "tackle" on Monfries at the end of 1st qtr was disgraceful. Half-heartedly put his arm out to stop him when he could easily have stepped into his path and taken a hit and stopped a certain goal (mind you, he's not alone in this regard!).

Hopefully Browne gets a debut this week. Have liked what I've seen from him so far at the Blues.

i still think guys like scotland and houlihan will be valuable for us... only once they play in their favoured positions and not pinch hitting like they are now.

houlihan should play as a crumbing forward.

and scotland should be used as either a loose man in defence, or through the middle.

Rubbish.

He's just got back from injury so I'm not surprised he has the yips, even though he still took some great marks and kicked a goal. He was clearly our 2nd best forward last year and is still pretty important for our forward line.

Whoa - easy fella. Just an opinion.

I like his effort and intensity - i just don't reckon he's as dangerous and damaging a forward as we need as our 2nd best forward.

If you look at the good sides, the 2nd or 3rd best forwards are guys like Roughead, S Welsh, Lucas, Didak, Burgoyne, Bradshaw etc. Fisher is an honest toiler but he's not in the same class as those blokes. I don't know what his best haul is but he's not a guy who looks like he could kick 5 if he has a good week.

If we're gonna keep moving forward i think we could do worse that look at trading some guys like him while we might still get something decent in return, ala Geelong and Hawthorn a few years back.

We need to bring in a CHF. Either Setanta or Hartlett.
I would give Hartlett first crack for 4 weeks starting this week.

In: Hartlett, Bentick
Out: Scotland (enough is enough), Russell

Carrazzo (time to go back son) Jamison Thornton (will beat Medhurst)
Pfeiffer (play Scotland's role but more accountable vs Didak) Waite Bower
Murphy Hadley (liked his game last week) Simpson
Gibbs Hartlett Fisher
Kruezer Fevola Betts
Cloke Judd Stevens
Houlihan, Bentick, Bannister (midfield rotations) Hampson

Beautifully balanced team!!!!

Heath Scotland looks like not only being dropped for poor performance, but for bad attitude, behavior on field, and causing fights.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Scotland has always been a headcase who thinks he's a little better than what he really is. Based on form alone (which is poor), I'd keep him in the side... has enough credits in the bank, just. But this, coupled with attitude problems which are potentially rubbing off on the rest of the group, I'd give him the arse this week.

Just after signing a new contract too.... Amazing how this happens... a player lays it all on the line and gives supreme effort coming up to contract negotiations, then lapses after the new deal is done. Poor form.

i would start with bannister on .. and just leave him on swan all day..

i would play hadley as a loose man in defence, just to assist with the pressure they are coping week in week out, and i would start gibbs in the middle.

I think Fisher is someone we should be looking at trading sooner rather than later. Unlikely we'd get a lot for him though i guess.

Dont quite follow the logic. Fish is a proven and respected forward who regularly kicks goals. He has far outgunned and repayed his #72 draft pick ranking.

Are you suggesting we trade him for perhaps an unwanted #50 to 72 draft pick?

JR, well for two weeks running i think he hasn't done anything to cement his spot, but hasn't done anything to suggest being dropped, he is at the moment a borderline case??

:confused::confused::confused:

He has done plenty to suggest he not only be dropped but also to cement a spot in the Ants for the remainder of his contract. Then he can go cement a spot somewhere else, preferably underwater.

Scotland will be BOG this week just to shove it up Mick malthouse's....

Leave Fish jesus give him a break one bad game, I'm sure he has played more better ones than bad ones.

Simo & Carrots need to lift and Irish to play on Rocca. Tell him it's now or never and I reckon he would thrive on the challenge.

Play Scotty in Midfield and swapping of half back with Hoops on Half forward flank. Keep forward 50 open with just Fev and Eddie with Kreuzer and Fisher marking across CHF and Cloke can drop back to CHB and help out along with the midfielders which have not done this so far this year and I reckon that is a recipe for us to sing DA DA DA DA DAR!!!!!!!! and break this stupid record that is hanging over our head.

No more laughing at Carlton, it's time to fight back!!!!

Your thoughts????

P.s Bentick in for JR but I don't need to tell you guys that.

P.P.S Bower needs to be told to get rid of the pill a million times quicker!!!!!!!!!

hell freakin no.if anyone thornton but hadley has got to be on the ball as long as he can hack it. Toughest bloke in close that we got.

Firstly, i can inform everyone that Setanta O'hAilpin is fine. He has no health issue despite what was posted about him having Ross River Fever on this forum a few weeks back.

Secondly, i can tell you that JR :D, Jordan Bannister and Heath Scotland all look to be facing the axe this week.

Heath Scotland looks like not only being dropped for poor performance, but for bad attitude, behavior on field, and causing fights.

Got a bit of an inside word, don't ask me from where because i'm unable to tell you. I know people on this forum can post bullsh*t about having sources and what not, so you can choose to believe what you like. Don't shoot me for sharing what i know with you!

Scotland destroyed the pies last time and gee everyone being a bit hard on him he hasn't been awesome (as per prior years) but he has clearly been far from our worst

Nah all i'm suggesting is we maybe look at what we might get for him. That's all.

I agree with you that he's been great value for a #72 pick, but if we wanna be better we have to set higher standards. Fish has all of our respect because he has toiled manfully in a struggling side and done ok. So all we Blues supporters love him and rate his work, but if you take a step back and take an objective look at the other forwards in the comp he's probably average at best, and perhaps more like below average.

Rating any players IMHO comes down to "how many other sides would he get a game in", and with Fish I dunno. FWIW I think Carrazzo is a bit the same.

People thought the Hawks trading Thompson was crazy but it turned out pretty well for them.

He has to lose the loop. He's going to get someone killed.

Thompson requested to leave after his illness (depression) looking for a fresh start. Let's get the facts right. We've given away/delisted enough KP forwards over the last 2 years. Let's just decimate the forward line completely by trading Fisher, close to the best overhead mark for his size in the competition .
