Having watched quite a few games respectively of Division 1 and 2, the gulf between the 2 divisions is quite large. Physicality , ball movement which goes in hand with the skill level is quite noticeable… saying that though if Hampton Park win it and they show the willingness to want to jump to division 1 and the league does have it in the constitution to promote premier and relegate bottom ranked then this should eventuate but if Chelsea Heights , Highett , Mordialloc win it and they show an unwillingness to jump up then the conversation needs to be hadHearing the league would be happy to discuss the winner of Div2 not going up.
Only HP are expressing a strong desire to go up with the others indicating a preference not to go up .
If CH, Highett and Mordi won Div2 the league would entertain this and keep Cranbourne in Div 1.
Surely they couldn’t, but we know they want to keep the Narre and Cranny rivalry going.
Puppet , thoughts from CH??

How so?The close watch is Port Colts , anything could happen there.
You are not even ALMOST correct. Promoted Murrumbeena lost by zero games by 15 goals. Zero. It's hard for teams in the top of Div 2 who get promoted to Div 1. They go from winning almost every game in Div 2 to being thrashed by 15 goals the next season in ALMOST every game. Have some empathy. it can kill certain clubs' cultures. The answer is for the league to help teams in Div 2 to make sure it isn't such a huge jump into Div 1.
The recruiting barely offset the retirements and departures. Div 2 premiers the season before also made a mockery of your comment. No 15 goal losses for them either.Hi Billy, Murrumbeena did some huge recruiting though. You can't compare the Div 2 Murrumbeena team to the Div 1 Murrumbeena team. There were like 8-10 top end players recruited in the off season. Schollo, Standish etc. Thats what kept them going in Div 1. Not all teams that are promoted can flash the coin to increase their player ranks once they get into Div 1. Thats the whole point.
They lost 11/12 1s players from the year before. Beena certainly didn’t splash the cash just tried to bring in the right players that will hopefully stay at the club for a couple yearsHi Billy, Murrumbeena did some huge recruiting though. TooooVeeeey, the players that they brought in were collectively better than the ones that left at their respective stages of their careers. It was a real changing of the guard. They are looking at the long term. Basically, that is exactly what a Div 2 team coming up has to do and yes raid the VAFA ranks for players who want a bit of coin. They lost 11/12 1s players from the year before. Im not sure cranny are the ones pushing to stay in div 1. They understand that their results mean relegation and will live and die by that.I doubt the SFNL would do that. It's Cranbourne and only them at fault they came last, and they should be treated the same as other clubs who come last. Go and win Div 2.
100% not coming from Cranbourne and agree it may do them some good going down with a young listIm not sure cranny are the ones pushing to stay in div 1. They understand that their results mean relegation and will live and die by that.
They lost alot of experience last off season and replaced them with. Heap of 18-20 years. Playing div 2 may help them become genuine div 1 players by the time they are 23-24.
The whole rivaly thing is a bit of a cop out. Div 2 still have HP. Doveton and keysy from their old comp. With also. Endeavour hills. Chelsea and frankston all alot closer in proximity.
They understand their position and are willing to go and put in the hard yards to earn the right back to div 1 the proper way. Nearly all senios players have re-signed And need to just add a few here and there to get going again
Just thievesno shortage of people at narre
Well said, they kicked 5 for the game!St Pauls have brought captain Matthew Kreymborg back in for the Qualifying Final. That will make them very hard to beat. He is worth 3-4 goals.
Yes agree big gap i watched a couple of Narre games and springy games and they would beat hp by 10 goals but if hp do come up they will keep most of there list and are prepared to recruit from other leagues that are good standards iv been told 3/4 from noble are a good chance of coming already no matter what division they are inHaving watched quite a few games respectively of Division 1 and 2, the gulf between the 2 divisions is quite large. But make no mistake Cranbourne and Cranbourne only have themselves to blame for the demise , all good and well they want to keep the rivalry going with narre Warren but season to season you must earn that right. The close watch is Port Colts , anything could happen there.
Hampton park will be fine, they have a fair bit of money already, they charge gate all season and have now hosted finals the last 2 seasons which is a huge influx of $.Yes agree big gap i watched a couple of Narre games and springy games and they would beat hp by 10 goals but if hp do come up they will keep most of there list and are prepared to recruit from other leagues that are good standards iv been told 3/4 from noble are a good chance of coming already no matter what division they are in
The Cheltenham trainers and volunteers were probably very happy to double upShould Chelts 2s feel a bit stooged playing a final vs Narre (away team) at Narre and losing by 2 goals when they were meant to play at RSEA?
what about Frankston Dolphins U19’s who had to play their elimination final against Murrumbeena at Narre’s instead of RSEA Moorabbin?Should Chelts 2s feel a bit stooged playing a final vs Narre (away team) at Narre and losing by 2 goals when they were meant to play at RSEA?
