Is there any chance that Shane Harvey would be delisted? If so, why wouldn't the bumbers use him in a trade? Harrington said they tried to get him but could not come to terms with the bumbers.

What pick would you give up for him? I would give up 24.

he has quit the club, so he will most likely nominate for one of the drafts. if we pick him up in the national draft, i hope we use nothing more then a 3rd round pick on him.

Has he quit the club?? I haven't heard anything about this, is it official.. He would be a good pick up if he was still around at 24
i cant be bothered finding the article for you, but yes he did quit the bombers, and no i wouldnt waste a second round selection on him. pick 40 at the very highest, or maybe pick him up in the pre-season draft.

Pick 40 at the highest in the national draft. Not averse to him coming to North, but wouldn't give too much away.

Atleast someone is talking sense. I really cant understand the infatuation.

Yeah, the little ginger prick would've been delisted if he hadn't quit. At best, he was trade bait.

Do yourselves a favour, go draft a kid with pick 40 who has heart and commitment, and won't strut around thinking he's king **** cos he's Brent Harvey's brother.

Does he have shinboner spirit? Let's just say the only shinbone he's going to get is mine, making a violent impact on his backside as he goes out the door.

I think we should draft him, and train him into the midfield where he belongs. Brent will make sure he disciplines him and Shane will show some heart playing with Brent. I think he should go into Pre-Season, and grab him with our first pick.

If he nominates for the National Draft, Im not sure he'll be around at 40. There are only 25 youngsters that are usually decent rookies, the rest are wildcards.

Wouldnt mind grabbing him with pick 24. Use 9 for Farren Ray, Dunn if he's there or McLean.

Dunn or Mclean at 9, DeLuca at 24.. and whoever we like at pick 40.. (If its Shane Harvey, then Brent better sit down and talk to him)

Has Ray Hall been delisted from richmond (or quit?) I know he was offered as trade bait to someone.. but I want to know what happened with him, anyone know?

Go Roos

would rather we didnt get farren ray as hes a WA boy and there is always the risk of him wanting to go home. would rather take one of the vic boys instead, he will most likely be gone by pick 9 anyway.

Not totally sure here, but if Shane Harvey isn't delisted by Essendon in the coming weeks, he'll have to wait till the Pre-season draft to get picked up? Not sure.

Anyway, I reckon we should pick up the two best young players available with picks 9 and 24. I've never seen De Luca, so can only go from what's been said on here, but I'd be very surprised if he wasn't still around at pick 40. That seems a more realistic pick for him, but I agree another ruckman would be handy.

As for predicting who'll be available at pick 9, it's a lottery. Should we go for a KPP (Fergus Watts?), or a tough midfield type (Dunn or McLean)....either way, we should be able to pick up another talented youngster or two.

I would like to get De Luca as well Tashi but I doubt we would need to go through the draft to get him......Dont think there will be much interest from other clubs.....Could probably get him as a Rookie listed player no probs, although I wouldnt say no to pick 60 odd or whatever one we have in the 4th round.

Every club (and clubs supporters) has players that play in their affiliate sides that they are keen on....Doesnt mean any other team gives a damn....

Using ideas from other threads and using them here:

Harvs Jnr is < 23 and has played few games.....He should not enter the Draft but instead get Rookied by us......that way he comes to us at no cost.....

I can guarantee that this is the thinking of our club currently

Don't hold your breath. Somehow I can see Deni$ pick him up in the draft if Shane has nominated. :(

C'mon guys, Shane Harvey is useless. He's not even half the player of Brent's calibur.

Don't waste anything valuble on him whatsoever.

Ease up Jason.

Mattyc2442 might be a Hawks fan, but he's been pretty reasonable thoughout. He's even taken the p*ss out of his own club with the recruitment of Trent Croad.

But feel free to have a go at the halfwits like superstar, Jacqui9, and co.

I remember Mark Harvey mentioning at the end of the year that Essendon needed the likes of three players to stand up in 2004, SHarvey was one of them (I can't remember the other two). I would have thought Essendon do not want to lose him... I think he was taken at #19 too.

I agree with Matt.
Plus I don't think we need this type of player anyway. I'd much rather us go after medium sized onballers. We need a tougher midfield.
