Not sure if this was posted elsewhere but apparently the club got sent photos of McAdam smoking. Not a big deal but I think the club would prefer he didn't do it in public.

It is a big deal... He is now a professional... I really want him to make it ... Remember what rendell said...

Not every player is going to get the absolute best from themselves by always doing the exact right thing. As long as it’s a rare event rather than a pack per day habit that impacts his aerobic capacity then it’s ok. But, if you’re going to be borderline best 22, then you won’t have Mackay type career longevity if you aren’t being seen to do everything 100% right.

A bit of a choof on the crack pipe ain’t that bad.
Half the big footy posters are hitting it way harder than # 23.
I’d be more concerned with him tripping over the sea of Red cans.

Edit: haven’t been there for a while, that may not be an issue these days.

It really isnt a big deal IF he limits it. Eddie Betts is amongst many footballers who loved a dart, although I dont think Ed does it these days.

Wasn't Johncock a smoker? Pretty sure there are a few around the league today as well (Hogan springs to mind as being a fan of the durries).

As long as it's only a every now and then thing, it should be fine.

Still an issue.

The last race meeting rodeo I went to in Halls Creek 109 people were locked up on the first night. Not bad for for a town that had a population just touching 1000 at the time.

I remember the paddy wagon basically doing a constant loop from the pub to cells.

He never lived up to his potential imho... Could have been a great player if he took his fitness seriously...

Maybe that’s why his footy went to another level ;)
However I more think it’s the overall attitude of the player, if they are happy to have a smoke every now and again I don’t see that the would put 100% in every other area of fitness.

Not sure if he was an in season smoker, but would spend the entire off-season on the Winnie Blues.

Wasn’t that Burton interview on Sportsday SA awful ..... the guy speaks terrible and would find it hard to command respect .... yes on knowledge of footy fitness, but not on life experiences or mentoring young players or coaches
Surely he doesn't speak as badly as Keith Thomas

It is a big deal if true. Hopefully it isnt.

How things change so quickly. i can still remember (I think it was) Chris McDermott and others lighting up cigarettes and smoking them on Footy Park after the game. It was as things were changing and I thought it a bit strange, but back in the day I remember smoking in shops and restaurants before I gave it up, and I am not as old as it may seem!

I know of multiple current players who smoked in their early years at the Crows. It isn't great but it isn't a deal breaker, we'll just work on it with him.

I certainly haven't seen that posted anywhere else on here or even social media.
Bonafide source or 2nd - 3rd - 4th hand information and when is supposed to have taken place?

There's a big difference between having a smoke with some friends after a few holiday drinks and going to a shop and buying a packet of smokes IMO.

Also was it a regular cigarette or a joint?
