This kids improvement this year has been outstanding and he deserves his own thread.

His marking is improving (excluding the collingwood game) with some courageous efforts tonight and his gut running and speed is amazing for a big man. With his ruckwork getting better every week he is becoming an important player.

Keep up the good work Hammer!! :thumbsu::D

agree - all the talk about Warnock whilst this bloke has done everything right
Rucks well, chases well, tackles well.
Marking and kicking could improve and could do better in the fwd 50m I think Kreuz is rubbing off on him. Both have come a long way and hopefully go much further

He was top notch tonight. Didn't fumble, clean hands, and towered over Mumford numerous times. Courageous too...when he went back with the flight of the ball a goal resulted from it...fantastic stuff from him tonight.

This lad has finally been given a decent run of consecutive games and he is repaying the faith shown in him. Very good game tonight. Dangerous combo with Kruze. After having no rucks two seasons ago, we are soon to have an embarassment of riches if you throw in Warnock and Jacobs.

He is definately a work in progress but he has the work rate and desire to improve and it really shows.

Give him a few more years and he will become a fantastic player.

Given how well Kruezer and Hampson are playing in the ruck, is it wise to bring Warnock into the mix?

Reckon Carlton will roll the dice with Warnock against Melbourne to see where he's at before the finals.

Kreuzer playing as a permanent forward would be an absolute bonus.

Love this kid! Would be VERY pissed off if we were to lose him to the GC.

Hampson >>> Warnock :)

I was a firm believer in this move prior to tonight, but after his performance in the ruck with his work around the ground and winning contested ball being as good as it was im not sure if this is the correct move.

Still worth a try, our ruck rotation will be very strong.

Think it's important to note size doesn't always equate to courage. We all know big lumps of ruckmen who have hearts like peas. Just because you are a good size - it still takes plenty of courage to do what Hammer did tonight. So impressed by his efforts. Holding his marks, tapping to our advantage, creating play. We have to be content with where he's at, Shirley. :thumbsu:

That effort when he ran back into the back and cleaned himself and I think JR to try and take a mark spoke volumes about the commitment of the man

He won't be going to GC.

It really is Hamma time

He may be a work in progress, but my oh my, he is a fine one.

The fact he's improving all the areas of his game, coupled with the fact he's shown he's courageous and committed, I'm excited for his future.

As Guns said, Kreuz is rubbing off on him and what better role model to have and play alongside than young Special K.

When was the last time a club made finals with ruckman who are just 20 and 21 years of age?

This alone speaks volumes for our potential as a team.

Especially since Warnock is arguably our best tap ruckman.

And Jacobs is pushing up hard too.

I would play Kreuzer forward depending on the opponent and Warnock. The sliding mark Kreuzer took at CHF on the lead and his mobility in a contest right after it was fantastic for a man his size.

Though I like the mobile Setanta in the team whilst Waite is out.

More than content. He's still a work in progress but I certainly didn't think he'd be this far progressed earlier in the year. Seems to have a good work ethic, which will hold him in very good stead with his brilliant athleticism.

Spot on Thy.......and stop calling me Bertrand!

I reckon he has some serious potential up forward too. Knockers coming on and off the bench with Hampson and Kreuzer rotating forward sounds nice eh?
