yes it was good to see. great performance. the last time I saw Daryl live he didn't play any Sherbert material, as Sherbert can only be Sherbert as Sherbert.

theyre back!what a great performance they still have that magic that made them great in the 70s

It was great to see the band perform again! They have done the occasional performance in recent years (ABC New Year's Eve Special 1998, the Ted Mulry Benefit and the Swampy Jarvis wake), but as this was a precursor to them reforming for a tour I guess it was even a bit more special (and the occasion was definitely more upbeat than the latter two).

It was good to see both the principal lead guitarists, Harvey James and Clive Shakespeare, play last night. Harvey would have taken the lead and solo because he had replaced Clive in the band by the time Howzat was recorded. (His solo on the original recording was a 'first take' effort).

Despite the fact that a lot of people didn't think much of their material, Sherbet was a superb live act and an extremely tight musical unit (because they had several gruelling years of pub gigs and the like before they hit the big time). That showed last night, with not a note out of place and the harmonies still perfect.

The only thing I noticed was that Daryl's voice was definitely croaky at times. He normally wouldn't have a problem getting all of the notes, in fact he did Howzat the previous week at the Rooty Hill RSL without a hitch. Mind you, that night he did about 25 songs (acoustic and with full band) so his voice may have been still trying to recover!
