Wasn't this done about 3 years ago? The response was to extend his contract, so be careful or you'll have him until 2010.

I say he deserves 1 more year next year, hasn't done that bad of a job when u consider the mess he was left with, just hope he gives the players a real rev up and stops saying how good they are cause there not.

Has done a very good job still in my opinion.

Wish that we had of got Worsfold still, just think he has that edge about him that we needed.

Hes a very good people manager, but does he have the tactical nous to go all the way?

We now have the players perhaps it should be looked at, depending on who was available of course.

This is unbelievable.

Three years ago every wanted him gone !

But things improved, and last year everyone was saying he was the coach of the year...

Now, after 2 bad games he's become "Tony Shaw" again ?????

ur kidding me right? we have a few ********house games and ur all ready discussing giving him the boot....cumon! wat makes it all his fault...pretty obvious to me against the bulldogs it was the players who werent doing what they were suppose to be....there is no way he deserves to go, hes brang the club far the last 2 seasons and just because the players havnt been doing so good the last 2 games he has still put in as much as he can...how ridiculous...

This is my concern. The guy seems to have no ideas when it comes to tactics and is too reactive, even then he reacts too slowly.

He gets outcoached easily.

The trouble is, we really need to go down the path of getting a ready made senior coach down here. Is there anyone likely to fill the role floating around?

I agree. He is a bit of a tinker man and often the "big" moves or changes come once the game is lost.

I would give Thompson 1 more year at the helm. If the club is still dropping games they should be winning and he is still make slow reactive decisions then he should be axed.

I'm not calling for Thompson' shead atm, but what was interesting was after the Port game Thompson saying that due to illness the preparation was done by his coaching staff, after that performance I say let them do the preparation every damn week!
